why are you trying to turn this round to seem like fergie is responsible for what you dont like about United. he has made his position clear about his relationship with Glazers. All this letter does is say "we think you are lying"
If that was the case (that the majority of United fans thought that Fergie was a weasel despite what he has done for us) if I were him, I would stick 2 fingers up at the Stretford End, and walk.
Then we would be in the $hite.
The self importancy of the very few.
While these are all valid questions.
The tone and structure of firing questions one after another comes across as rude and juvenile and if I received such a letter I wouldnt give it the time of day.
RedBlackandWhiteside
I don't agree with this letter. Turning on our manager, the greatest of all time, is hardly going to improve things I agree.
But I do share the opinion that we aren't really hearing Fergie's true feelings about our owners. He is just toeing the party line and keeping things on an even keel. As is Gill.
They were both dead against United having in debt in 2004. What changed?
Gill 2004 ' Debt is the road to ruin'
2005.....he gets a bumper £1m salary rise and everything is rosy again.
Why can't you lot face the obvious truth as to why Fergie doesn't speak out against the Glazers?
if ever i saw an inconsidered knee-jerk reaction to fresh news.... this is it.
Is there a section where I can sign it where it says that "as a lifelong United fan I want it known that I want nothing to do with this letter"?
He is just toeing the party line and

Nothing changed. I bet they are both still against it. But instead of falling on their swords (I bet this would be your choice) they chose to work through it and keep United at the top of the pile.
what VC says
Fergie is a pragmatist. Not an idealist. In life you work with the cards you are dealt and get on with it.
I think most United fans would want nothing to do with it too. I don't. I would never sign such a letter.
I have my concerns too but that doesn't mean I want my anger at the owners turned on the greatest manager we have ever had and will ever have.
Fergie's not to blame for all this mess. He's just caught up in it like Gill is.
The parasites are the ones who decided to borrow money against the club and shift the debt onto us, not Fergie.
I fear too many people are suffering from green-eyed monster syndrome in relation to Man Citys rise.
They see the money being spent on players, facilities, etc and they are jealous. FFP is coming in but it has yet to make any difference, whether it will we have to wait and see.
What kind of owners would people be happy with? The Glazers suck money out of the club to pay off the debt, related fees and for themselves but they still provide money for transfers/wages.
Do people think this will change in the future when the debt clears? Not a chance, things will continue as they are.
As long as the club is challenging and not in danger then I am content with the Glazers.
The parasites are the ones who decided to borrow money against the club and shift the debt onto us
.................
What do you mean by 'shift the debt on to us'?
I presume he means that the Glazers borrowed the money
And once they had secured over 75% ownership of the club they were then able to put this debt which they had taken out against the assets of the club.

We know this.

And once they had secured over 75% ownership of the club they were then able to put this debt which they had taken out against the assets of the club.

The club that they now own. So the debt is not against any of us, it is still against the Glazers.
Yeah the debt is against the parent company.
I think that if the Glazer debt was legally shifted against any individual or group of individuals you would have been notified of it in the post by now.
Oh, and your bank manager might want to call you in to talk about a certain direct debit standing order that was recently set up.
I'm not seeing any of VC's comments.....nor do I want to either.
Some of the abuse he's been giving out recently is a new low for even him, in particular about going 'licking windows' Really shows him for what he is.
People are entitled to their own beliefs and shouldn't be belittled and bullied when they don't comply with somebody else's.
For anybody to suggest the Glazers have been good for United, is really taking the pi$$ though.
I believe he means "us" as fans do when talking about the club they follow in this case Manchester United
Since the debt was put onto Manchester United
He says the debt was put onto "us"
Thats how I read it anyway.
Diva, adults are talking, back to the record thread with you.

Depends on your point of view.
Some of the things the Glazers have bought to the table have been very good.
The debt obviously has not.

So true, sad to see
That letter doesn't represent the majority though. I dare say it even represents more than a handful of reds. They should be careful at where they place their blame.
I don't honestly think they are anti Fergie though. They are just fed up with the lies and backtracking that our club seem to do a lot of these days. Misplaced anger is all it is. It's the Glazers where their real anger lies, as does mine.
I have no intention to turn on the greatest manager of all time though. I wish he'd come out and call their bluff but even I know that's incredibly unlikely.

Can you please ask SE-85 to explain whty he means by the Glazers bluff.
The child has filtered me.

It's not Glazer's bluff. It's Fergie's bluff.
The point being that he has the power to do something and make a stand. He is an amazing position of power, more so than any manager in the world. He is basically unsackable.
He could come out and criticize the debt and threaten to walk and then they'd have to sit up and take note but he doesn't do it and it doesn't look like he ever will. I did say it was very unlikely. In his position, none of us would probably do it either.
I don't blame fergie in any of this though. He's just caught up in a mess that the Glazers caused. But if he came out against the owners, he'd be even more of a god in my eyes and many other reds too.
