Nice to see a positive post.

I can't call this season at all and at present I'm not positive at all.

The good news is I was very positive at the start of the last two seasons !

I think the good news is that there are about 20 teams in this division that all have similar strength squads, which means that you only have to lift yourself above the ordinary to compete for a play off place.

The bad news is that there are about 20 teams in this division that all have similar strength squads, which makes it so competitive.

I've got my season ticket so I'll be there hoping like I always am and, as Burbage says, I really thought we'd challenge for at least a play off place last year.

Yep, our squad is definitely better than that.

I think Pearson is moulding a very similar team though. I'd you remember that year, we were very difficult to beat and won the tight games. That's often how you succeed in the championship - make sure you're the team that wins 1-0 rather than loses 1-0.

It's not very often you get a Swansea that play their way out of it. QPR battled out despite their quality, West Ham did the same last year.

Let's hope we have enough in midfield to unlock defences in those tight games.

I think everyone's agreed on here at the minute - a left winger an creative midfielder would finish our squad off nicely although if someone like Koren did come, surely one of Drinkwater, James, King, Wellens, Danns wouldn't be happy with limited ame time.

Just want the season to start now - bored of all the "Pearson's rubbish", "no he's not" debate.

Not the only one. Its been going on since about February now, and whether we have a great start, good start, ok start, bad start or disasterous start I fear this debate shall continue.

Yes, the squad we have now is better in terms of the overall quality. However, you miss one crucial point - the team we had 3 years ago has something we don't have now - Momentum. Momentum from a successful campaign in League One. Where is the momentum in the squad this year? There is none.

If you look back through history, clubs that have gone up from L1 have tended to do well in the Champ. Southampton and Norwich went straight up, despite finishing with fewer points than we did. Reading, Wigan, Colchester, Swansea, Leeds, Brighton - all had very successful seasons immediately after promotion. I fully expect at least 1, maybe 2, of this year's promoted teams to challenge for promotion.

Also, back then their were 2 outstanding teams (Newcastle & West Brom) and a lot of average ones. Now there are 5 or 6 very strong teams, plus a further dozen who are capable of pushing for the play-offs.

For me, whilst our campaign 3 years ago was of course successful, it wasn't outstanding and it wasn't anything that hasn't happened time and time again, before or since.
