Most have no choice given the demand

The price of being a juggernaut is millions of fans around the world - many of whom try and get to Anfield to watch the club

Really?

Funny that, as there was a red on here yesterday who said;

"I only get over 2 or 3 times a year but we got to go to the united cup game and the derby at home I got tickets for family and friends for other games"

Now that's what I call walking on to a clenched fist

So someone managed to get tickets so by that logic everyone can get tickets?

Is that what you're saying?

I'm refuting the myth that it's impossible for the armchairs to get tickets for Anfield, by posting the words of a kopite, who miraculously managed to get tickets for the United game, the derby & other games for his mates & family, seemingly without bother.

Is that too difficult for you to digest?

The guy in the thread mentions how he got them, by basically being on the phone as soon as they go on sale, so it's basically down to luck.

What toblerone is going on about I have no idea, he seems to think that everyone can get one by strolling up to the ticket office.

Tobes is full of sheite! He hasn't got a clue. Of course there are tickets on general sale for every game, but not many and if you don't get in there quickly they are gone.

Everton have lots of tickets left for every game, and that obviously embarrasses him.

What like the many Blues sat in the main stand at the derby you mean?

I was merely pointing out that getting tickets for Anfield isn't the 'black art' that it's made out to be, by some of the armchair whoppers on sites like this.

I'm not entirely sure that being an *armchair fan* is anything to be ashamed of anyway.

Tobes

Do you have problems having discussions in a calm manner? It's an honest question.

The reason I ask is that every comment I've seen you make comes across as really aggressive and confrontational. I could understand of it was in response to something, or you were provoked. But even your first comment, on a thread, is usually like it.

--------------------------------------------------------------

That's a matter for debate, does it make you any less of a fan if you never attend games?

Not for me to decide.

However, at least you're not ashamed to admit it, so fair play. It's the armchairs who make excuses about ticket availability blah, blah, who are just being disingenuous, as they never try in reality, they therefore deserve a bit of ribbing

I suppose the people who go to games might think you're less of a fan if you don't go, but that's their prerogative I guess, I doubt that the person who doesn't go to the match really cares what they think.

-------------------------------------------------------------

I think many do, hence the excuses that get rolled out.

It makes some feel as though their view is maybe less valid due to their armchair status.

I've heard many match goers speak as much total tripe as people who've not been in a decade, so it's not a 'given' that match goers know anymore about the game than the man watching the box.

I always get the impression that the armchair fans have a different outlook to the club and players than matchday supporters.Armchair fans tend to be more extreme in their views on sites like this than matchgoing supporters.

This may simply be down to the fact that match goers tend to chat amongst each other in the stands, vent their fustrations at the ground and have a chat over a pint after the match to go over what went right and wrong during the game.

Armchairs tend to come on these forums to give their views out having been given only the televised view of the game by biased or otherwise commentators
