The honest answer is no one knows for sure. Also recommend using a spell checker. (Etihad).

Because etihad is programmed into an English spell checking program...

Wish ja606 had a spell cheekar or at least an edit button thingy-me-bob thing for posts. Makes life somewhat easier for phone users. Ok, not concentrating at school didn't help!

This 6 minute video is pretty useful, and the website yhat produced it is well worth a visit

Whilst there may be loopholes to exploit, the FFP rules are having an impact already.

Look at Abu Dhabi City for example, they haven't signed anyone and can't get rid of their players on juicy contracts.

Another 200m loss is on the cards

My view is that FFP was brought in to have a pop at teams like City and Chelsea by Platini. However, now PSG are at it I expect it to fall by the wayside. Jealousy of the Premier League spawned it but now a club from his country is benefiting he won't mind.

PSG and the money they have spent will never ever ever be economical. So if they aren't punished everyone else can rest easy.

FFP is definitely having an effect, Lawyers and Accountants are loving it!

^This is the only effect i've noticed and i wouldn't put it past City to be lining up a few transfers in the next month.

Can't get access to youtube at work unfortunately.

RE: spellchecking it would be a good feature for the site but it's a football forum so honestly who cares.

I'd worry about your own club not signing anyone if I were you.

In fairness, it's pretty clear that not getting these players off your wage bill is proving detrimental to your transfer policy. Mancini can chuck the toys out of his pram all he likes but it's pretty poor form to have a go at Marwood when he is attempting to get City in some way resembling a going concern, obviously an alien concept to your gaffer

And we're well awre of our own club's transfer woes. You guys are always quick to remind us, after all.

Think all City fans would like to see the back of them. However, also confident we will strengthen, and we have got a pretty strong squad as it is.

I don't particularly like the way football has gone. I personally was a lot happier before I ever found out what an IPO was. I just can't see that FPP will take us anywhere better.

I just don't see FFP having an effect full stop. If it was going to prevent clubs from spending big, then you wouldn't have PSG (a club with not particularly great revenue streams currently) flashing the cash in the manner that they have done. At least Chelsea do have high revenues and have lost high earners, which in some way justifies their outlay this summer.

I was very skeptical about the FFP to begin with too. I thought it would be squashed straight away.

But just look around Europe. Hardly anybody spent money in the January window and it's been rather quiet again this summer in comparision to previous windows.

AC Milan have had to sell BIG this summer. City aren't spending. Malaga's owner has had enough and wants out.

Plenty of signs out there that the FFP is for real and can't be beaten.

Every team has to submit financial documents each year for their licence to compete in UEFA competitions. If there are dodgy figures that aren't seen as realistic market rate prices, they will be investigated and then possibly banned.

Chelsea are extremely fortunate that they won the CL because they needed a rebuild and their high earners were going to leave regardless. If they hadn't of won the thing, even if they were runners up, there would be no CL football at Chelsea next season and therefore no Hazard, Oscar etc.

Nobody will be banned from the CL under FFP for another 2 seasons, and even then there are 7 other sanctions to be imposed before expulsion is considered

And that is before the Court of Arbitration for Sport get involved

2014/15 will be the first year, if anybody is banned that is.

This 7 other sanctions is hardly concrete though. So what they are going to give the same club 7 chances before they ban them? I very much doubt it.

If Super League clubs (rugby league) break the salary cap they get an immediate 2 point deduction, no warning. Any further breach and the punishment increases.

People think UEFA are going to be soft with this. I think clubs are actually taking this very seriously indeed.

We've signed 2 players already. One would think noisy, nosey neighbours would know that

Uefa will be extremely tough, I agree.

But only on Clubs that are too weak to fight them.

Rendering the whole process futile

When I see or hear that Roman or the Shiek have been punished, or even reprimanded, I might start paying attention to the ruling. Until then, it seems like BS with a lot of loopholes.
