bellers loan deal to cardiff

Where did you get this from? I wish people would post links when they put stuff up and I can't see it being a loan to be honest. If he goes to Cardiff "which is looking likely" I'm sure it'll be a free transfer!

Time will tell. I'm not worrying, because Rodgers won't let good players go unless we're getting in capable replacements. There is no point judging his transfer dealings until midnight on 1 September, by which time we should have two or three new players in.

A loan deal sounds unlikely, given he was a free transfer.

Rodgers wants him to stay but Bellers fancies a swansong at his hometown club.
He's also on about £80-90 grand a week so the money men who run LFC these days will be happy to see him go.

I can't see it to be honest. Rodgers rates him highly and Bellamy loves the club, plus he's playing in the Premier League. It just doesn't add up.

Thing is, I'm a bit torn with Craig. At the end of last season, I could ssee this as being in the best interests of the bloke, and it wouldn't hurt us too much. He looked tired, and quite honestly after the Carling Cup final, was pretty ineffectual. No worse than anyone else, just not really better.

But now having seen him for Team GB in the Olympics, admittedly against a lower level of opposition than he will face in the Premier League, it seems he still has something to give at the top level for at least one more season, maybe two.

Maybe giving us an extra year would be the ideal situation for all involved? It will left Cardiff settle down with all the changes happening at the club and be a more stable team for him to join, and the extra season here means he can contribute to our season, but also provide a buffer for Sterling breaking into the first team. A player of Bellamy's age and experience and a young player like Sterling could share responsibilities, letting Sterling learn the game from a top pro, and giving Bellers' dodgy knees a rest every once in a while.

I'd be surprised if he let Bellamy go, he's got another season left in him & is a top player on his day, the 4-3-3 will suit him, so it would make no sense if he allowed him to leave imo.

I think it would be stupid to let him go

Force him to stay

He can do his hometown swan song at 35 instead of 34

Selling Bellers while keeping a has been with high wages and long injury record Joe Cole makes no sense. Will be a huge mistake to sell Bellers.

I can't see why we'd have to force Bellamy to stay, he's at a club he loves, in the Premier League and is playing for a manager who rates him highly. Why would he want to leave? I just don't understand it.

me neither toor

but if the 'rumours' are true and he wants a last season in Wales, then I'd say p(ss off Craig, we need you. See out your contract and do it next year.

Craig could play at Championship level at 35 for crying out loud, he still has blistering pace and he is a good couple of years away from having his last year, in my opinion. I think the rumours are false.

Look at the guy in the Olympics, from what I've seen, he has been the best player so far in the competition and he's up against mostly 23 year old's and under and at his age, he keeps pace with most of them. He has another couple of years in the Premier League.

Bellers makes a fantastic impact sub. Selling him, or allowing him to leave would be idiocy and further add to criticisms of penny pinching being more important than creating an effective squad.

He is 100% leaving. I from Cardiff. Bellamy has been given an ultimatum from the missus, as he is to far away. He is to buy him self out of the remainder of his contract.

I think it's lunacy to be honest, but It's as much as a done deal. So much so that his kids even know and have been telling class mates that "Daddy is coming home"
