I agree. The only player that can replace Arteta is Wilshere in our squad. But Wilshere needs to first be fit, and the regain form and stuff.
Arteta is definetley our most important midfielder atm.
Assuming this all does go through, isnt it nice that Wenger actually has choice.
Arteta, Cazorla, Sahin, Song, Diaby will all be fighting out for a starting spot at the start of the season. Hopefully Jack will be back a few months in and give us another player for when the games really start to stack up after during and after xmas. We also have Rosicky who I think still has alot to offer is a great back up in the creative midfield role.
Im not really sure where I stand with Ramsey, I think hes time at the club is coming to an end, but hopefully he can surprise us all.
Im also looking forward to seeing Eisfield in the carling cup hopefully.
So yes, lots of choice, I dont think anyone is undropable, but it will be nice to be able to finally rotate quality players in the squad.
Whilst I agree in the main with what you're saying OP, competition for places is no bad thing, as would be the opportunity for Arsene to rotate the starting XI occasionally without having to compromise the quality of the team.
For those reasons alone, Sahin would be a class signing for us.
Assuming we make the signings:
Podolski---RVP---Cazorla
--------------Sahin-------------
-----------Song-Arteta-------
Gibbs-Verm-Kosc--Sagna
------------Szczesny------------
I know that Sahin is a deeper player though so I'd imagine that he wouldn't sit constantly in the AM position.
Once Wilshere is back:
Podolski---RVP---Cazorla
-------------Wilshere-----------
--------Sahin----Arteta--------
Gibbs-Verm-Kosc-Sagna
-----------Szczesny-----------
Though you would need Song for certain games. This team would be useful v Barcelona for example.
Don't think arteta is that amazing of a player but he is important, has premier league experience and really helps keep hold of possesion. Although I think a fully fit diaby, wilshere, possible arrival of sahin will mean he will not get as many minutes.
I felt last season we had close to no options other than the main four of Ramsey, Arteta, Song and Rosicky but suddenly we are about to be swamped with players returning from injury(class players aswell) and two very good signings(might be an understament).
We have been conditioned to believe that quality signings will "kill" other players potential and i'd love Sahin to come.
It will be our luck that next season that all stay fit and unrest in the players occurs.
If Sahin and Cazorla come in Song will go.
We will play Arteta alongside Sahin or Diaby, Coquelin as back up, with Cazorla, AOC, Rosicky or Ramsey ahead of them, with the option of playing Diaby and Sahin further forward.
Where's Song going to go to?
I've not seen anyone linking him to any of the Italian big hitters, and there's no way he'd get much playing time at either Real or Barca.
PSG then?
I think we will need Song for many Premier League teams but in Europe less so.
Song won't be leaving any time soon.
I'm not sure i agree, if we have plaers like jack, cazorla and possible sahin, all who are better players then i think they should start, but i do think arteta should come on at the end of games as a calming presence

People say song will not leave, well I wouldn't rule it out since we have to sell one 1st team player each season. Lets' say van persie stays then song will go which is good for us.
Walcott's not nailed on to stay at this moment in time either, HMNIV.
Why do people say things like "Barca don't need him" and he won't get playing time at Barca".
As if that ever stopped Barca buying a player or a player moving to Barca.
Cesc wasn't needed by Barca, they just wanted him. Cesc wasn't guaranteed playing time at Barca, but he still went. Same with the likes of Afellay, Alexis Sanchez and many others.
Arsenal will not fight to keep Song, especially if Sahin comes, so if Barca want him they will get him.
Good point but I would love to see song go, his defensive work has never been enough, if we want to win to trophies then we need more disciplined players in the middle of the park and players who can keep possession. If Barca want him then sell him for 15-20m.

Rubbish.
I was sceptical enough when Petit agreed to join Barca.
If Song were to go there, I'd seriously doubt his sanity.
On another note though D'J... The Walking Dead season finale tomorrow night!
Lex, do you want to know what happens? Save you an hour tomorrow night...
NO!
This season's been SO MUCH BETTER than season 1.
Basically the walking dead... become the jogging living
I thought this season dragged on too much. Preferred series one, shorter and more to the point. Too much filler in season 2.
Seen trailers for season 3 and it looks like it will get back to its violent best. A certain someone will return after being absent throughout the whole of season 2 and their return will be very interesting.
