Portsmouth V Liverpool

1st pre-season and both teams having made several changes to their line ups struggled to get going. It was however Portsmouth who took the lead in 24 mins. Neat play from youngster Verratti saw him break the defence with a lovely through ball to Daimao who rounded Courtois and slotted into the back of the net. The game saw both sides eventually start to play some nice passing football from Dzagoev, Kroos and Mata from Liverpool and Verratti and Kagawa from Portsmouth but to no real effect as chances were missed by both sides.
The second half saw a lot of changes being made by both sides and it was Liverpools who took more effect, and it was loan stars Ramirez and Cisse who showed Portsmouth that they may need them for the season ahead. Ramirez got passed VDW then put it through Mbiwas legs to send Cisse free on goal, he never even took a touch as he blasted it high into the roof of the net on 59 mins. Again tho after the equalizer the game slowed as this was just a matter of fitness and more subs were made half way trhough the half. Again both sides played well but there was no end product as the game dwindled out in pre-season fashion..However things do look promising for both teams, its just a matter of the new boys settling in..
