Tbh...as a spectacle it isn't worth it. Murray too consistent and inspired for a washed out Fed who had spent everything getting past DP (finally playing near top form again). Fully deserved victory for the Scot.
Save yourself for the USO...should be a belter
hmmm I would have to disagree with that. Feds probably had more break points than Andy Murray did and that final is well worth watching Wobgnorts. Our British lone ranger blew the big headed swiss fella away
As a spectacle, it had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish
You must have watched a different final from me Maksi. Bar a spell early on the second set and for a bit of the 3rd where Fed could not capitalise on his BP chances it was fairly one sided. He couldn't hang on to his serve for around 45 minutes and admitted afterwards he was second best.
Fed only won one more game than he won in the FO Final in 08.
That match was pretty one sided do you not agree?
Murray deserved to win for the reasons I originally mentioned but that doesn't mean it was a great match to watch.
Are you british Earl? Are you telling me that you did not find that Olympic final dramatic from start to finish?
Even when Andy was leading 2:0 in sets plenty were thinking that now Feds will settle down and turn this around, and he piled the pressure on one of Andys service games, but couldn't break him.
Personally, and as a big fan of Andy Murray and british tennis, I loved every second of that match and still think the OP should watch it
I must admit some of Feds' volleying and overhead smashing was shocking and didn't help his cause at all. I love the way Andy Murray plays so strongly with the backhand and the forehand and I don't think I have ever seen him serve as fast and good as he did against Djokovic and then Feds.
Be interesting to see where he goes from here. Feds will soon be finished, Djokovic has had his best year, and Nadal is great on clay. Surely Andy is favourite to grab a slam or two now?
Patriotism has nothing to do with it...I was describing it from am objective viewpoint. Keen for Murray to win from a British Gold Medal POV bit also would have been happy to see Fed win the one big gong missing from his CV
A win win scenario...but still not a great match to watch
It wasn't a great spectacle as close, guess who is going to win tennis match, it all went right for Murray, nothing went right for Fed.
Doesn't detract from being a hugely exciting match for any Murray/Team GB fan.
