"“I think it’s very hard for the transfer to happen unless Tottenham pay the €60million (£47m) buyout fee that is included in his contract," Internacional president Giovanni Luigi

If you type "Giovanni Luigi" into Google translate (auto-detect to English) , does the reply come out as :

Daniel Levy ??

Wouldn't read too much into it, Damiao isn't worth that much.

The same bloke said last week they'd listen to offers in excess of £20m.

20 yrs to get into the champions league throught the premier league, we finally do it and then decide to stop spending and do it all on the cheap

I know we have the new stadium to think about but as a fan its bloody frustrating to say the least

decent signings last jan would of seen us miles clear in 3rd

Do we ever learn

dunno why but I think Bale would make a good striker.

Madrid have just purchased Axel Witsel as well apparently, think Modric will be at WHL next season unless Levy accepts a lower offer.

Bale should be left wing not striker

If we don't sign a striker then I am thoroughly fed up with spurs

I don't even want ade but it's so late in the day that I would take him

Facking ridiculous. Vertonghen money should have been used to get a striker (Newcastle got cisse for a similar amount)

Am getting very impatient now and have ready written off newcastle away

If Modric is staying, then he has to play, if he refuses, then he does not get paid, simple as, I am sure when he realises that he is not going to get paid for the next four years, that should bring him to his senses.

I'm not really, we probably didn't go for Jim as Levy didn't think he was worth the money.

I mean, think about it, 7 million is way too rich for his blood...plus bus fares, buying him some lunch, he'd probably want fries with that...it all adds up...

*Jim?? Who's Jim?? HIM.

Maybe because he has a dodgy knee that could go at any time.

I agree with Weare, I said back in January when we were comfortable in 3rd that if we were able to spend a bit of money and strengthen then who knows we could have challenged for the title, but certainly would have got CL. Now look at us, not strengthening where we need to and really doesn't look like we've learnt from anything. We will really struggle for a CL place next year at this rate. I'm usually quite confident but I must admit I am now getting fed up. How many years have we wanted/needed a couple of top notch strikers? It's ridiculous. I know they might be thinking about a stadium, but hang on surely making sure you keep your fans happy and attending games is a priority, bigger stadium means nothing if you don't fill it, the other priority is WINNING GAMES which also keeps fans happy. Rant over.

I'm sure we will see a few players sold and some players brought by the end of the summer transfer window

I'm sure we will, just worries me that they might be like a 'make do for now' type thing.
