Lucas and Allen will work well together Can you keep relying on Gerrard though?

You gotta wonder, with Allen coming in and Shelvey seemingly in Brendan's pans, where does that leave Hendo?

on the bench

borini will play in the middle and Suarez will come from the left or right side

I think Shelvey will be used when Gerrard is injured, he's a talanted lad and more suited to that role than the deep lying one he was given on thursday.

There are rumours that Hendo isn't in Rogers plans and may have actually been told so...

Well Suarez played through the middle last night and caused havoc, the fact Borini and Downing threatened to dash in behind when Suarez came deep was a real handful for Gomel, i hope he stays central.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Allen quite an attack-minded midfielder? Surely playing him alongside Lucas would be a waste of his talents, surely he's be alongside Gerrard.

Rodgers gave a pretty strong hint in a recent interview that Borini will be used on the left.

No he's a midfielder who controls the game. He's Modric/Xavi type player (not comparing BTW )

Just a small point op; BR plays his teams in 7 zones, so that line up would be:

--------------------Reina------------------
-----------Skrtel---------Agger----------
--------------------Lucas-----------------
Johnson------------------------Enrique
--------------Gerrard---Allen-----------
Downing----------------------Borini----
--------------------Suarez----------------

Obviously they move around, but essentially i think thats it; heres a link explaining.

I would love to see two more signings, with one midfielder, to cover for Gerrard, Ramirez (?) and a versatile winger/right side attacker, say Dempsey would do.

A left side of Enrique and Borini looks weak so ideally we still need a left back that can complement what Johnson does on the right going forward.
