No.

The squad is still short of numbers, and is unbalanced. At the moment I wouldn'r quibble with any of the signings but I wouldn't be surprised if one or two don't work out. Also we still have fewer players than we had when last season finished - nine leavers, seven arrivals I think.

On Saturday we will not be putting out a team, we will be putting out eleven players. Those players will need to 'gel' and generate some synergy before we can seriously threaten genuine play off candidates

We are still short. I think we need a right back and a right winger , and then a back up winger who can play on the left or right. Last year we had Mcleary and Anderson, and we were still trying to sign Routledge and Verhoek. Our squad is some way off being ready, because really we've just replaced the defenders we lost and added a striker with similar attributes to what we already have. I think Ayala and Collins is better than Morgan and Chambers, and Harding will be good for us on the left, but I don't think that Halford is in Gunter class. Guedioura is immense and we have a dearth of talented midfielders, but Cohen is struggling for match fitness and will spend most of this season recovering from his injury, and McGugun is too inconsistent, and none of the others score. Up front, we know what Dex can do, but rest, including cox, have a lot to prove at this level. It could go either way. Our strikers could find form, and we could blitz it, or they could struggle, particularly with the lack of speed and width in this Forest side and we'll suffer similar inconsistencies as last year.

Mid table this season. We need to be patient and keep expectations inc heck.

we aren't one of the 6 best squads in the championship but, if you can stay in touch and get an inspired loan signing at the right time, we've seen time and time again that any old tosh can fluke it into the championship playoffs.

i won't be putting any money on it but you never know

What Davedarkly said. Not ready at this moment. I don't think this is the season for us. We need to build a team and at present we have prepared to start the season with a squad that hopefully won't go down. I completely agree that we need a quality RB and RW combination. I'm happy with the Cox signing as he cam play on wing if needed.

If we can be in the top half of the table come January then I don't see why not.

By then SoD will know exactly who we need to get in as reinforcements, which would hopefully enable us to push for a play-off spot.

no. this years championship is going to be very tough. its very even top to bottom. we still need a winger with pace and another defender or two. midfield and up front though i think we look strong. not too sure about the full backs at this stage. don't know enough about them

bring back billy and we might be

when is it ever 'not' a very tough championship, philo?

Given we sign the kuwatis, have depth in defense, and find some form of decent right winger (maybe a tweaked findley) then mid table-ish.

I think its up to SoD from there on in. If he can get the team to gel and play magic enough football, we might be in for a play off place.

Bob .. give it up, it's getting embarrassing now! There's a reason he's still not got a job

Yeah I hope we can have a shot at the playoffs!

If we don't aim for them, then we will not get there!

TEG, Cox played on the wing in the Euros and qualifying for his country so I'm sure he can do it in the Championship. It's good to have that option.

I think we need a couple more but I think we'll get them. We're still in the market for players. There's plenty of ability in our squad. Cox could be a great signing and the defenders we've brought are decent and could be a great defensive unit if the gaffer gets them organised.

We just lack a bit of balance. We need at least one winger and we'll get one and maybe some more cover at the back.

SoDs been given a chance to show what he can do with a bigger club and decent budget. Let's hope he can deliver.

I think we should since thomas Ince. He's ambitious, and might just see moving to Forest as a step up from Blackpool, considering the infrastructure of the two clubs. I reckon he'd also be available for £1.5-2m considering blackpool signed him for nowt onnly a year ago. They'd see that as good business, and he'd fit perfect on the right side of midfield for us.

Yeah he would be a great buy!

Davedarkly.......spot on ince is quick and has an eye for goal 1.5 to 2 mill would be small money for a player like ince
