Yeah and?
......
With all due respect, you have no idea what you're talking about.
With the greatest of respect, that is a statement not a fact. So good he made the England squad ahead of Henderson, oh wait?
Carrick made the third highest amount of passes per game in the Premier League last season, he also had the second highest pass completion rate in the whole Premier league, 90.1%, Yaya Toure was first with 90.5%
Better stats than any of those in your list, by far.
Those are the facts
What are you getting upset about it for?
No facts to back up your little statement? Thought not
Ok, so he was the best at passing sideways. What did he help your team to win last season? Oh wait..... what facts do you have to back that statement?
Is there a better defensive midfielder in the Premier league right now??
---
No.
As for Carrick, IMO he's a good player. Not as good as his fanboys make out, not nearly as bad as his cynical detractors make out.
I am of the view that Lucas is not yet match fit, he is easing himself back in, not doing anything too strenuous or silly, an at times has been more peripheral than in the past. That's not meant as a criticism in any way, it's just that in my view he is taking his time. I do not think he is the best DM in thr PL at present .JimmyTheRed
You base a players ability on what they win during one season in their career? Wow, no wonder you come across as clueless.
But seeing as that's the road you're going down, Carrick has been in our midfield during four title wins and a Champions league win.
How much has Lucas won?
What are you getting upset about it for?
Impressive debating skills
Cheers for biting. Good night.
Sorry for showing you up in front of your pals, sweet dreams.
You wish douche. One stat and you're the leading authority of sweet FA. Anyway, you still haven't answered and you question my debating skills. What are you getting upset about it for?
Stevie G, just leave it now. Your just digging yourself into a hole, deeper and deeper.
Lucas has become a very strong player. Good range of passing and excellent tackler with a superb engine to run the midfield. His major weakness is his goal threat, although he did score today
Carrick is a player to keep the ball moving. He is a superb passer, especially at short passing to keep the ball moving. He can seem a little slow sometimes and he isn't what I would call a strong tackler.
If we take the Spain/Barcelona midfield as a baseline then Lucas is more a Busquets/Mascherano style player whilst Carrick is more akin to Xavi, not saying they are comparable in skill but in position.
Therefore I am confused as to why we are arguing about who is better. I am sure Utd fans would be happy to see Lucas line up in their midfield to add a bit off steel whilst I personally think Carrick would fit in very well with the BR philosophy at Liverpool.
Macca
Lucas/Carrick type players aren't appreciated in England, because they do the dirty work and keep it simple.
Xavi said himself what he thinks of Carrick. He identified him as the man to stop ahead of the 2009 final, not Ronaldo, which they of course did, in fact they kept our whole team quiet
Luckily managers understand what they bring to a team.
Huh?
Carrick plays practically the same role as Lucas and Busquets; providing a screen for the defence, keeping the ball and beginning attacks.

Next what? Reina best keeper in the league? Agger best CB? Suarez best striker?
