One more thing ref was a tool yesterday. Should have distributed cards to City players for their rugby tackling before Ivan was sent off. And why didn't he give Ivanovic yellow? If FA is not convinced, they can charge him
It was a red card no doubting that.
I know it was red card, but if Savic had been booked, that incident wouldn't have happened
have the Chelsea boys turned into bitter gooners? Only one bad challenge in the game which got a red otherwise just a good workout for both teams.Would you rather it be played like an exhibition match? I thought he brought hazard off to stop the lad embarrassing himself any further and was Mata playing ?
I can't argue against Savic, shockingly bad player.
Can't see him playing much more for us.
Paul
No excuses again. You won
Hmm... City deserved the win in my eyes. They were the bettter team even when we had 11 men. Stil wasnt happy with the referee though. He seemed to let some challenges go and some challenges he couldnt wait to whip out a card.
It was a good game when it was 11 vs 11, then Ivanovic lost his head. After seeing us perform in a more 'competitive' game, i'm pretty confident going into this season
Irritating that the ref is a talking point yet again on a monday morning, sooner there is an instant review system for the big decisions the better.Game should have ended 10 a side if ivanovic challenge was a red.If there is no leeway for players in these games then managers should instruct players not to bother tackling rather than risk a 3 game ban
Tbf Paul, after taking off my blue tinted glasses it was definitely a red. Ivanovic was stupid, but yeah i'm pretty sure Savic should have got a 2nd yellow. Oh well it's done now anyway, we'll see what happens next time we play you
The ref got it wrong and this time we suffered for it but I do not advocate reviews. Goal line technology sure (and wasn't that used during the game yesterday) but not video reviews.
We saw Drogba and Torres sent off early last season for simillar challenges to that which Ivanovich made yesterday, the sending off should serve as a reminder (not that they should require it) of how not to tackle.
Congratulations to City, I look forward to the season kicking off now.
