It was very hard to tell, to be honest. He was rambling quite a bit.

Well if he was talking about someone playing up front for United then surely he was talking about footballers - who are athletes. I dont think that it is just a crazy thing to say that black footballers/athletes are on the whole faster than white ones.

If you built a PL fastest team it would be interested to see how many are black and how many white.

It is not what you say, it is how you say it.

I am done with this topic now. Time to move on.

Back to the topic. I think that we have 2 players in Smalling and Jones who can fill the gap at right back if required and I believe Jones could also play left back with Evans also there for cover too.

In fact with the central defence options we have now, it may be that's where Fergie focuses on developing Evans, as a left back.

I was sad to see O'Shea and Wes go but more of an emotional thing really as we do have plenty of cover for them both (Smalling is a better Brown and Jones a better O'Shea). Very good comparisons when you study their build and the way they play.

O'Shea I believe was orginally a Centre back and was adapted to the right back position as well as being able to fill in in midfield if required.

Some of you are making a fundamental error, one which is the foundation of many racist preconceptions - that is the mixing of the general with the specific.
Because IN GENERAL black people may exhibit certain physical traits which are advantageous in sports, it does not follow that ALL will, or more pertinently, that a specific person would over a specific white person.
The fact that all competitors at a top level have superior physical attributes means that one cannot apply general data to individual cases.

What the original title should have said is simply that "We need a fast guy up front". Statistically, this may mean that there would be more black than white candidates, but that is as far as one can go.

One also needs to factor in Sociological and Cultural factors; more poor (thus more black) people see sport as a viable option for success, at schools black kids good at sport are channelled in this direction and not academical, and many other such factors.
