Well how about swapping a ready made replacement in Savic for Agger and £5 million?

I wouldn't necessarily agree with you although he will be a big loss if he goes. Agger has got a poor medical history and I've heard tales about his social exploits when hes been injured. How old is he? That may also be a factor?

How about straight swap deal wtih Kompany.

General. He's 27. Is better to have Agger playing 20 games instead of Carra playing 38 games.

If we sell agger we won't be getting a top class replacement, wont be able to.

If Agger stands at 27m youd have to pay 37m for us to take Savic aswell

I'm sure Rodgers would've preferred an easier start

Its imperative that we keep Agger. I won't sell him till the time we get a ridiculous offer, ala Carroll! Even then I will be reluctant, you don't get such loyal (and class) players anymore. He was unlucky with injuries in the past but he has shown signs of putting them behind himself.

Selling him would be a mistake for many reasons

Disagree OP

Selling Alonso for 30mil was great business, taking into account that the player put in a transfer request. However replacing him with Aquilani was terrible business and that made the Alonso departure that much more dramatic.

So on the Agger story. Yes very important and anyone associated with LFC will prefer him to stay but if we get a decent replacement that will play more games ensuring that our back line is not disrupted as much throughout the season. Then its not bad business.
