No chance

that would be world class, one of the best strikers in the world and looks like a greek god.

Can't see it happening, Wenger said we'd replaced Van Perie already.

Wenger isn't going to say that he wants to buy. It will put any price up.

No chance but llorente has gone to juventus, finally cleared that up.

It would be amazing but it isn't going to happen. But people need to stop talking about Llorente, he is Juve bound and as much as I like him he is too similar to Giroud, we need something different.

Weren't you listening to Serial earlier? I thought he was just being attention seeking but it turns out everyone needs telling a billion times.

WE ARE NOT SIGNING ANOTHER STRIKER

I dunno? How come Marca are suggesting that we have made a 20m euros bid, 3m more than Juventus?

And Llorente has already talked to his 'good friend' Cazorla on how he is settling in London?

I wouldn't trust anything at the moment.

Marca is rubbish, like the sun.

We're in for a striker probably. Cavani would be good. He's a hard worker too.

Good luck with his wage demands

He will buy some bargain basement player from the French league again.

Look the argument about Llorente being similar to Giroud is actually a positive not a negative.

We are not going to change the formation or the way we play this late into our preparation. If Arsene didn't want a starter and backup we would have never bought Chamakh to backup RVP.

French players at the moment are not as good as people make out. Podolski will play on the left. The fact is we don't know at the moment. But if Arsene was serious about Giroud as the only striker we are in trouble. Even Arsene is not that callous.

There is still a lot of time before the transfer window closes. There was no reason to sell RVP so soon. We could have invited Man City into the whole thing. So there must be a reason to want the money quickly.

I would happily take him but we won't be get him.

Cavani would be a great signing for Arsenal, how much does he cost? Arsenal should also look at Lewandowski from Dormund too, he's got two years left on his deal and I don't think he costs any more than £20m.

Good luck and spend wisely guys, I honestly think £24 is too much for RVP.

BTW, what's the news with Wilshire? Is he coming back any time soon?

Jenius I just think that when things don't go well for us we would need a different option. Somebody like Cavani with more power and pace than Giroud and a threat from more angles/ranges. Llorente would be too similar and in terms of ability there isn't that much between them (plus he is in his peak now so no resale value). Just don't see Wenger going for him. Mind there is more chance of me playing for Arsenal than Cavani.

I think we sill sign Sahin, M'Vila, Mirallas and that's it. Maybe a cheap RB, too.

Lewandowski would be a great signing. Has good link-up play, passing, shooting, strength etc.

batmanu, i think you're being drastically over optimistic about the number of players - and players of that quality - you think we'll sign.

i assume this is if song leaves as well? if he did i could only see us signing one of m'vila and sahin. if he doesn't leave i don't think we will sign either.

the mirallas rumours are relating to him going to everton. and i cannot see us signing a RB.

posted on 15/8/12

Batmanu Mirallas is on his way to Everton. I can't think Arsene will make the Eduardo mistake again. His agent has been touting him across the premiership. I can't see that as a genuine link.

I don't mind Cavani at all. When I talk of Llorente is because of availability. But I don't mind an TOP CLASS striker to be honest.

We have to make the splash this time.

Sahin/Song transfers are not related. We were after Sahin before Barca were even interested in Song. Maybe we won't sign M'Vila and Wenger will put faith in Coquelin but after Coquelin we have no back up. It would be suicidal not to buy a replacement for him.

posted on 15/8/12

Song will go for £17.5m. And the obvious replacement will be M'Vila.

I think Barca want to offer £15m. We want £20m. Agreement will be £17.5m.

I don't see how Sahin fits in after we bought Cazorla.

posted on 15/8/12

Sahin plays deeper than Cazorla. I don't think Wenger wants to bank on Wilshere's fitness again. And Arteta hardly has a shining injury record himself.

posted on 15/8/12

yeah but we have diaby as well.

-----------------------
We have plenty in that position. Diaby and Ramsey [not my choice] behind Wilshere and Arteta.

We do need a holding type player.

Sahin does play in the deeper position but in my opinion it was a smokescreen to move the Cazorla deal. Sahin would have played higher up at Arsenal.

It is tremendously difficult for a deeper player to settle in the premier league. To be honest we have never replaced Gilberto. Flamini came close. So I had hoped we sold Song next year but Barca have pressed the button this year. So we may have no choice.
