I don't reckon it's really necessary. Kompany is one of the best defenders around, and Lescott is pretty good as well. Richards can play there too, and Savic badly needs to adapt to the English game so he needs time on the pitch. If you got really desperate I reckon Yaya could even do a job there (even if that would be a loss in midfield).

In the past we managed to win titles with O'Shea and Wes Brown (I love them both but neither was exactly Bobby Moore) as our back up centre halves, so it isn't as huge a problem as you'd think.

I think we need to bring someone in, Kolo has spat his dummy, Savic needs loaning out or at least relieving of the pressure of being our 3rd choice CB, dragging Micah into the middle is hardly ideal and Boyata never seems to have progressed following that sending off vs Arsenal. Will see, but if we only sign one more player this window I'd like it to be a cb.

Kolo will be disappearing to the ACON with Yaya and Savic needs a good bich slapping at times.
