Lets hope so

If we can get the Suhin from Madrid it would be a massive signing as he could defo be a long term Gerrard replacement

True.

I like how he is going about his business, but seeing the team on the pitch is the only way to judge. In reality pre season games mean sweet fa.

The proof will be in the pudding.

FLD. You are of course spot on. However, we ca only go on what we've seen so far - his interviews, limited time on the pitch, and the fact that it looks like he's persuaded an excellent prospect in Sahin to come here, despite the whole world telling us we'll never be able to sign a decent player ever again..... Saying all that, we'll probably get turned over by Albion!!

Term,

Sahin would be a brilliant acquisition. Firstly I cross my fingers it goes ahead and secondly I hope that there is a clause to buy him at the end of a loan deal. It would be very frustrating if he does the business, then returns to Madrid afterwards. However, firstly he has to actually join us this season.

What excites me is that BR wants to implement a pressing game. Liverpool have been at their best when they have done this. Bringing in another CM may raise a few eyebrows, but I would expect Adam to leave and perhaps Shelvey to go on loan to make space. This will leave us with plenty of cover for the engine room of the team, who will be expected to work like trojans, so having depth in this area is vitally important to the style of play being installed.

We can only go on what we've seen so far and BR has done everything superbly well! Every press conference has been honest and personable and although it's only been preseason and Europa qualifiers, the football has looked good and will only improve with time.

PPD, if Sahin does go back to Madrid, that'll just mean it's time for Xabi to come home.

None of you have seen Sahin play

He played virtually no games last season for Real and unless you all tuned in to the Turkish league in 2010/11 then you will have seen nothing of him.

It was the same with Ramirez.....You all bleated on as if he was the messiah but most will not have ever seen him kick a ball!

No offence, but I'm pretty sure you've got that badly wrong-I watched him when he was player of the year in the Bundesliga-but not sure if "Turkish League' is a well known nickname for the top German league?

Don't bother with Devonshirespur's posts, I'm pretty sure he has some sort pathological illness that precludes him from knowing what he's talking about on the Liverpool board.

padman.....you are right, he played in Germany as well as turkey.

You are in the absolute minority....everyone on here claiming to know that a 23 year old player who played in Germany 1 year ago and then sat on a Spannish bench for a year is the next coming!

When you compare to the "fall out" of the Sigurdsson deal, LFC fans saying after they missed out on him that he was unproven, half a good season, average with potential....yet he has proved 500% more than Sahin has in the EPL yet because he plays in the European leagues he supposed to be the next big then and 99% of fans probably never heard of him before about May 2012.

Seeing as he has never played in the premier league I don't see how you could qualify it as 500%.

good point well made Red..........infinitely more

posted on 16/8/12

Of course this all depends on Sahin having anything to prove.

Were Real Madrid after Siggurdsson?

Sigurdsson again, aye?

I think most on here would admit to be gutted that Gylfi didn't sign for us, but he priced himself out and chose you, no issue.

I expect most of the fans on here knew Sahin was the Bundesliga player of the year the season before he moved to Madrid because we know what we are talking about. So he had a few issues at Real, doesn't make him rubbish, many have struggled to make an impact there, plus they still rate him and thats why its only a loan deal.
