Loved the game.
No longer have it unfortunately, (disc must have broke or something).
However I made sure I gave it a good work out. So much, that me and my mate bunked school for 3 months straight and had social services knocking on our doors
I still play FM08 which I've continuously edited to keep it up to date.
Favourite was CM94 where Cambridge had Ferrah Orosco and Mark Collis, two of the games developers in their side. It was like signing Piqué and Messi!
You can download it for free Gullit, legit.
My word, I thought I was the only one who did this. I update every 6months to stop the game from going stale, I do get through a lot of seasons in those 6 months
Same TopLad
Only thing is cos mines a five year old engine, you get a few age discrepancies because the likes of Cleverley and Wilshire were about 14 when the game starts and I want to use them now! I look past that and just think of the money I save buying newer versions.
Got Top 4 English divs, Italy, Germany, Spain, France, holland and Portugal pretty up to scratch too......yeah I'm an anorak
Champagne, with my updates, they have the real ages. I use the Cm 01/02 software though, as I used to love that game as a child.
I will get FM13 I think though, seeing as I haven't bought a FM in ages
I havent bought FM in years, I stick with my updated CM 01/02.
Diggler same. Have you got the Tiani patch? I think that's what it's called
No, I just use the updates of the database and the formations.
Are you a SIM man?
Yeah, I patch my games from the website. Best way.
I used to love Championship Manager 1993 for PC. I recently lost the CD and have searched everywhere for the game, but with no luck. Help!!!
Why Toplad?
Isnt it just for changing the league setups and year?
Champ Manager 93 might be available for free download as the company who makes the series had most of the earlier games up for free download....
Was completely addicted to 01/02.
Spent over a decade with Arsenal and had a team comprised of top-class players like Mark Kerr, Paul Tierney, Cherno Samba, and Ronaldinho (they got one right!).
I remember Man Utd being ridiculously good on that game: Veron was better than Zidane; Van Nistelrooy was better than Henry; and Luke Chadwick became the best winger in the world.
You should play with the updates DaStu, its cool having the same game with all the proper transfers.
Diggler: I have been on almost every single site to get a CM93 download, but no luck.
I get CM93 Italia. And I also get CM93 with season update i.e. effectively CM94. But no CM93!
Awesome! Might give it a shot!
Although as good as CM01/02 was (the best for its time, IMO), I still think the most recent FMs are more advanced and enjoyable.
Theyre more advanced but for too technical, I dont really care for halftime team talks and all that nonesense so from the first edition of FM I stopped playing them.

ALSO TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What to do?
I havent played CM01/02 for yeaaars!!! WIll I still enjoy it??? I dunno. When I tried to go back to Goldeneye on the N64 last year it just was not the same.
I purchased fm12 a couple weeks back, but there areee so many stats and training and blah blah blah, it does my head in. I'm thinking are all these technicalities worth my time??? I could still end up managing Chelsea and drawing my first game at home to Stoke...
I didnt play CM 01/02 for 7/8 years until last year when I taught myself how to download it, install it and run it.
Played for a few months before finding the website and updates which really refreshed it.
It runs super fast so you are not waiting ages for loading and remains as addictive as ever.
^^CM01/02 sounds fun, but if you are interested in playing FM without all the finer details, you can get your assistant to do a lot of the dirty work.
Theres still a lot of crap I cant be ãrsed with, I just want to buy and sell players, pick the team, etc.
No need for HT/FT teamtalks, press conferences, unhappy players, etc...
I liked the older versions where it was easier to buy/ loan players. You simply typed in the criteria and the filters would show a list of all the players available.
Now, it is too complicated and requires too much effort. And you still don't get what you're looking for.
Which is why I play an older version with updates
