I respect a striker who can shoot from outside the area, its certainly better than not having any shot at goal, imo
He will start instead of Mata. Mata needs some rest.
well, he turned me into a newt.
I got better
He'll get minutes next game
No Mr. Sturridges here
danny is still very much a boy in terms of football
Sturridge is rearing to go, rdm is just holding him back, unfairly. I don't care how much a player costs but if you need to be spoon fed then you ain't my idea of a modern striker.
Capello, Torres works harder and offers more overall. Well, in theory at least. He wasn't all that today, his contribution was poor.
A good striker shouldn't be dribbling childishly around the area, he should be looking to shoot and thats exactly why I prefer Danny boy.
Robbie isn't ready to take danny off the leash

I don't want a hard working striker who won't be upfront when the ball comes, I want a potent or lethal (if you may) hawk with an eye for goal.
Sometimes playing with Sturridge is like playing with 10. I do take your point though.
I find myself agreeing with you more and more.
Robbie isn't ready to make big obvious call,
Upset Romans iconic striker, risk upsetting fans fav lampard, don't think so

He'll get a chance next game. I'm surprised he didn't get off the bench tonight but maybe RDM wanted the to see other members of the squad (Meireles)
someone who can recieve a loose ball, turn and fire it into the net, apart from the goals we scored we didn't really test their keeper, who knows how many balls he would have spilled

Sturridge was supposedly out "injured" for the England game so by that logic he shouldn't have played today no?
Being fair though Capello, Torres didn't have a tonne of chances where I thought 'oh if only Sturridge were playing'.
Sturridge get his chance next game. when you defend for 70% of the game, whoever be the striker wont make much difference. Wigan had more shots and possession than us. We need to control midfield.
CIty
I wanted him to come on for Bertand in the second half
I wanted more goals sometimes i think RDM likes us to play too defensive
They say 2-0 is a very dangerous score so early in the game and we should have pushed for 3 to kill it off
Gianfranco,
RDM puts team for counter attack and if we take a lead, then defend deep and save it. Wigan got enough chances. They had 4 shots on target and 9 off. wasteful wigan. imo we havnt troubled al habsi at all. Cech made more saves than him.
All the chances cech had to save were through his poor distribution
LITF,
True. May be some one put a bet on both sides to score? Just watching City and they keep the ball well in midfield. Looks for an opportunity to play the ball, Our players like to chase the ball, rather than keeping it.
City press better than us and keep the ball better but that's credit to their better midfielders
