You managed to get tickets for City at home? Well done!!! The atmosphere will be top notch..
First time I went was in the Anfield Road end was only against wolves but before match all the flags and banners were out in the Kop so every game no matter who we play it's like that never knew that till my first game...!!
Lets hope the players get their act together on Sunday!!!!
nasty police with big sticks & dogs, locals (some with knives) waiting to do you in, kids bricking your cars/coaches, dog poo everywhere around the stadium, & then after the game a very interesting walk back to the train station win lose or draw.
Its not that bad now though.
Man City was also my first match and I have no recollection of the score. I was very drunk and enjoyed the occasion a little too much.

Agreed
But enough about old toilet, what about Anfield.
My visit to Anfield was the 16th September 1990, I keep trying to forget it, I hope you enjoy it more than I did.
I agree it was probally the same for you lot aswell.
But it was never boring!!!!!!
Yeah I managed to save money for the membership and then managed to get myself a ticket.
Can't say I expected much different responses
My first game was against Leeds United when I was about 6 years old. My dad took me and I was surprised that it was right in the middle of the Kop. It was a 0-0 which was unusual for the Reds at the time. I don't really remember singing but I do remember the vivid colours of the green pitch, the red shirts and Trevor Cherry missing a sitter.
The highlight for me is the scouse pie.
Just wait till you walk out and see the green of the pitch contrasting against the red seats its an amazing feeling the first time and I still love that moment every time I go.
Great game to get tickets for as atmosphere should be very good, you should go into the ground 45 mins or so before ko if it's your first time just to soak it all up also I like to watch the warm ups for both sides.
If your going for a drink before the park pub opposite the shankley gates is good craic loads of fans singing it gets you right up for it.
Enjoy it mate win loose or draw it's still going to be a great day for you and I know the green of the pitch contrasted against the red seats sounds like nothing much but trust me it really is a sight to behold I'm sure any fan who's been will agree
I've said to mates and family that regardless of result it will be unbelievable. I'm going early so I can have a proper walk round the staidum and ill be in there early too.
Thing im looking forward to most though has to be YNWA before the game. Genuinely haven't been looking forward to something so much in my life.
Managed to get a ticket for Arsenal the week after also..cheeky I know
My first match @Anfield was a boring 0-0 vs. Portsmouth.
Brilliant experience though.

My first game was against West Ham in 1984. 3-0 win Walsh got 2 and Wark got 1. I was sat in the main stand right next to the Kop. Me old man said I hardly watched the game as I was fascinated by the kop.
Enjoy mate and make sure you try the scouse pie with a bovril
