A Point gained or Two Dropped?

I would have just had the rub of the green and we would have been ok and out of sight tonight. Cox said we gave the pen because we had tired legs that gave it? I buy that with all the running we did all night. Most nights we would have won convincingly ....I don't think I would have changed much from what SO'D did. It was a mistake that cost us the two points...but I am really happy compared to the last five years this is a great start. So lets not feel too down.

At this stage of the season it has to be a point gained.

A lot of positives tonight. Important for Cox to get off mark quickly and get a goal, that gets that monkey of his back straight away. The pressure builds on strikers the longer they go without their first goal.

Possession stats were good which shows were keeping the ball well, and that will only get better as the season goes on and the players get used to each other and to what the manager wants.

All in all very happy at the moment.

We should get Cotterill back so I can slag someone off.

4 points from 6(should have been 6 from 6) with a team that still needs to gel is good progress.

2 dropped.

I know its early days, but from the match report and the stats we were the better team on the day. Plus they scored in the 92nd minute.

Not to be negative, but definitely 2 points dropped.

After listening to the game, definitely 2 dropped, but would have been happy with a point beforehand. Just a shame how it transpired. Onwards to Bolton.

A team thats been together less than a few weeks has took 4 points from 6 (should of been 6), looking stronger with each game, and with futher additions to come. This early on any points are points gained, just painful that it could of been two more.

But good signs, and the rub of the green that kept up mostly out of the huddersfield net today will get us points in the future.

Cox assist and goal within the first game and a half.

2 points dropped for sure, but hopefully we can learn from this and cut out costly mistakes early in the season.

Nice to see Cox get off the mark though.

I'm hearing a lot of 'listened to the game', nothing against that at all by the way, but being at the game I'll give you an insight into what commentary seems to have missed.
Though McGugan had the first real attempt on goal, it was Huddersfield that carved out the better chances. I counted three first half opportunities where the ball came to a striker with only the 'keeper to beat only for them to volley it horribly wide and over. A few weeks into the season and I can have seen them sticking two away.
Outside of these chances I must say I was extremely impressed with how well we moved the ball around (best performance since B'ham last season I'd say).
For me taking off a striker for a defender always spells trouble. You are just inviting pressure, and without Cox their defence didn't have to worry as much with leaving cover, they could all push up into our half.
We were never going to hold out for 15 mins like that.
It's always gutting to lose right at the end but I suppose early in the season I'd have to say a point gained away from home.

I think that only because of the way we played it has to go down as two points dropped.

However, the very fact we are having this debate tells its own story. Very encouraging.

It is two points dropped, but at this stage of the season I am still massively encouraged. We are in the top 6!!! and there are still more players to come in. We just should not have gone all defensive. Attack is the best form of defensive in my book - if they haven't got the ball they can't score.

With the opposition fans praising our performance last night, I can't help think that it was 2 pts lost rather than a point gained. Still, we're still in transition mode, and are a long way off firing on all cylinders, so there are loads more positives to come out of last night than negatives. Bolton on Friday will be difficult, esp. as we're normally absolutely tosh on Sky, but if we can get a point out of that game I think I'd take that now!

Can't really criticise for taking Cox off .. it was the 89th minute after all. You see those types of substitutions made week in week out without conceding a late goal, it was just one of those things. The main reason we didn't come away with 3pts was missing about 5 opportunities in the first half!

Anyhow, onwards and upwards

......what Hoons said.

This is going to be a hard hard league to get out of.

Derby are doing a good job of it so far

We dropped 2 points coz we conceded in injury time which is as simple as that. But its not the job of us fans to criticise anytime we dont pick up 3 points. Team is gelling well but still has to come together, it was an excellent performance and we're playing great stuff. If we wanna be critical you could point at some of the misses by individuals but why bother these things happen. Its boding very well for an excellent campaign and most importantly we're playing excellent football. Be happy that we have at last have a smart manager who plays the Forest way, its been too long. A top 6 finish is well within our grasp, maybe more!!

2 points dropped but a good lesson. I'd have taken a draw, I always would away from home. The tackle from Harding was rediculous but we didn't need to sit back so much. It's asking for trouble. Oh well, signs are still very promising, but we must turn chances into goals.

Donny fan here lads.
You will need to get used to this type of substitution by SoD.
Too many times to remember in his time with us he would bring on defenders in the last few minutes when we were one up or level.
This inevitably invited the opposition on to us and we would end up drawing from winning positions or losing from a drawing position.
He does it all the time.

an away point is an away point at the end of the day, so we shouldn't be too disappointed

silly penalty to give away but we still got a point.
