I'm a big fan of Nole's, the fact he shows his emotions, let's his character show through in interviews, applauds his opponents and was prepared to find the key to taking his game to next level.
But I'm not blind to the fact that his form this season has dipped from last season's.
You quote the 2 hard court finals. But isn't making the finals there the least you would expect from him? Therefore are they major achievements?
Nothing wrong with a dip in form, was impossible for him to keep up last season's form, just an observation and like I have continually said, I hope he gets his mojo back soon.

Well no it is no gimmie or for me expectation for him to make the finals. Hardcourts like Clay bring with them their own specialists. You could argue that yes he has made the Cinncy final 2 years running and won Miami, Indian Wells and Toronto. If he didn't make the finals I wouldn't be surprised. Hardcourts have more threats in the field than Clay for example.
Nole's seeding in those tournaments would mean it's a surprise for him not to make those finals.
Are you genuinely saying you thought he might not make them?

That is exactly what I am saying. He is no shoe in to win them or make the final. He isn't the best HC player out there.
So who is better hard court player than Djokovic that should have taken his place in those finals?
Are you seriously saying that Davydenko, Cilic or Del Potro are better hard court players than Djokovic at this point in time?
Federer for start and also Murray. As we are talking BO3 format both Murray and Djokovic have won 19 HC BO3 titles. That for me makes it no gimmie that Djokovic.
Neither Fed nor Murray were in his path to the final, so how did you see them preventing him getting to the final?
Your logic is flawed.
I listed the players he beat to make it to final with Fed - Davydenko, Cilic and Del Potro.
You are saying he wasn't a cert to make teh final as there are better HC players than him.
Please tell us which of Davydebnko, Cilic or Del Potro are better HC players than Nole and therefore would have prevented him making the final?
Your logic is flawed.
-------------------------------
Really?
So you were asking whether Delpo was better than Djokovic on HC and yet have him as a contender for the US Open?
Flawed.
You are now trying to turn the argument onto the Toronto Masters when my comment was for here and now.
Flawed again.
I find you to be obstropolous
At Toronto, Nole beat Tomic, Querry, Haas and Tipsarevic, maybe you're saying they were better HC players than him and would have prevented him making that final?
Of course Del Potro is a contender for US Open, are you saying he isn't?
You're just talking nonsense this morning, suggest you stay off early morning drinking.
I see I've won my argument.
If only.
I can't wait to see how Del Potro is a contender.
Let me guess, because the 2009 version will show up.

For me, having Murray in Fed's half of the draw tomorrow would be a nice start
Thanks NITB
I do think he will be unlucky and draw the short straw that is Murray.
I have been impressed with Nole this year. I think the fact he doesn't chase publicity and keeps himself to himself is an endearing quality. I know Rafa and Roger embrace that element and even Murray does to an extent.
I don't know how I would feel if he sold out to Nike or Adidas. I feel is if he wants to be recognised for his tennis much rather than the image it portrays.
I am sad Tacchini wasn't able to honour their contract with Nole. I will always associate his magical 2011 with those iconic outfits...
Nothing is impossilbe, but I do hope he stays away from Nike.
I was amazed that Adidas ditched Djokovic. Bet they were kicking themselves when 2011 unfolded.
Entering Monte Carlo was a mistake, the slide started from there plus all those 5-hours matches have started to take their toll. It was just not tennis that Nole and Nadal kept playing. Rafa has suffrered more and somewhere Nole too is paying the price for burning himself out.
Djoko just has to start taking his PEDs again and he will be ok
Boring comment that isn't it? and yet Rafa fans have had to endure it for years
Novak may not have the same mainstream success or attention that Federer or Nadal have, but I guess that's what elevates the stock of Djokovic because he keeps himself to himself. Has that personal exclustivity that creates interest and curiosity. I admire a guy who doesn't throw himself into the spotlight. I like a guy who shows emotion like he does and also someone who can smile during matches and pay respect to an opponent who plays a great shot no matter how highly or lowly they are ranked.

Rolled my eyes when i read that: absolute poppycock.
