So do i. He was great in this mini-AVB resurgance period last year

I honestly don't know what is happening. He isnt injured so its just Di Matteo not wanting/trusting him for some game time I guess...
I know we want to try Oscar at the Pivot but I would love to see:

Oscar----Romeu

soon enough! I think that would be a fantastic well balance mid.

He was never class. He was occasionally average, but usually below that.

He's young and Spanish so he must be great.

I think the problem for Romeu is that we have a lot of central midfielders and if we bring on a central midfielder it´s usually Meireles or Essien.

Romeu is about fifth in the pecking order of central midfielders but if he is good enough then he will make his way into the first team sooner or later. Might take two or three seasons though.

Juan Zola...

Even though this was against wolves he had a 93% pass completion, 65/70 complete.

What utter garbage.

Rewatch the Valencia & City matches at SB last season. He almost stole the show in both.

Yesterday I was told pass completion stats are crap and should be ignored.

You lot obviously didn't want Romeu play against Liverpool?

Romeu bossed City, and this was when City were unbeaten and on top of their game.

He has huge potential. Juan Zola's a WUM.

I also watched the other 10 players against Liverpool. Bertrand looked like a pub player in that game. So what's your point?

You lot are creaming yourself over a kid who had a couple of decent games. He did no more in those games than Mikel does. Yet Mikel's made out to be sh@t.

I don't doubt he has potential I disagree massively with the massive overhype related to him.

Screw Modric, we have Romeu

This line kind of sums up the whole ridiculousness of the article. Modric and Romeu couldn't be any more different a midfielder.

Juan Zola so I take it you disagree massively with the massive overhype related to Hazard at the moment?
---
Please be serious. Hazard has been incredible these two games, he carried the side against Wigan and him and Mata ran the show yesterday. Romeu had a couple of decent performances, the type we wouldn't be getting excited about if it was Mikel.

Put into context we'd all agree Hazard is a better footballer than Romeu and will probably have a bigger career.

Romeu showed enough for us to believe he could have a future here, but not enough to show us he should be starting all the time, imo.

Randomer, you're an idiot. Either have a decent argument or shut up.

If he could just improve his range of passing/get better at dribbling, he would be a very complete midfielder.
---
Yes, I agree.

That isn't what has been said, though. People here are making out that right now Romeu is a better player than Mikel and should be the first name on the team sheet. That is ridiculous and surely you must agree with that.

Your Mata comment was so obscene I didn't bother with it. Comparing what Romeu has shown to us with Mata or Hazard is close to being sectioned.

Indeed they are, but I was simply implying that we have no need for more central midfielders. If we were to offload a few, then fine.

Dont look at the game vs Liverpool. We'd just beat them in the cup. Terry was our worst player that game.
Romeu may be slow (One of Mikels biggest flaws too) but he is an all round better player than Mikel, he sees what passes are on, can carry the ball, gets caught in possesion less.

I think Romeu will still get his fair share of opportunites this season, with all the competitions we are in.
