Well, if he's got a guaranteed starting place then there is no point in leaving. But, I had thought Spurs were on the look for a couple of strikers and as soon as they came in, they'd ship Defoe. Wasn't he on the bench for some time last season?... Lambert was the one who started the interest, not me!

Yeah mate he was dropped a lot last season for Ade, prob will again this season. Harry had him playing with Ade at time with Defoe as the supporting striker It didnt work too well.

And I'm pretty sure I heard AVB saying he'll adopt a simillar style to last season... So, Defoe being benched may become even more likely, hence why I thought we should've put in a bid for him. And, with that see how Defoe and Spurs see things.

He isn't a dead ball striker, not a holding player, he is 29 years (soon to be 30) then how come he is a good striker to Villa have?
