So Trap has again picked O'Dea and McShane over Clark.

Whelan.

Time to go, old man!

What in the blue hell are McShane and Andy 'Dont expect me to score but ill work hard hard' Keogh. No Clark? trap out.

I was so angered reading that list that I didn't even see Keogh.

Has Trap ever made the effort of watching the games? No.

This is an old man who wants to work about four or five weeks a year and get a nice payday.

Lets hope Trap retires, sooner rather than later. if he had been manager of any other country at the Euro's he'd have been sacked before the plane landed home. His removal should see the end of senseless selections of his favourites Green, Keogh, Mc(No)Shame... Irish football is on a major decline popularitywise coz of Trap, anyone you talk too cant stomach another Trap led campaign so we'd wanna prepare ourselves for one of the lowest supported campaigns in recent history, the people have had enough of Trap and his lame neanderthal efforts to run our national team

....................................................................

If he had been manager of Spain or Italy, sure, but in case you forgot he was actually managing the second lowest ranked team at the Euros! So the fact that we lost to the likes of Italy, Spain and Croatia, didn't really shock anyone outside of Ireland.

You see if Trap had done a Brian Kerr or a Stan and failed to even get us in the playoffs for a decade, then he'd get the sack immediately, but you see football is all about RESULTS, not popular team selections and really just getting us to the Euros for first time in 20 years ahead of the teams just as good if not better than us like...

Belgium
Serbia
Turkey
Switzerland
Bosnia
Bulgaria
Scotland

...was a result in itself!

No we didnt get there ahead of these teams we got there ahead of the following teams:

Armenia
Slovakia
Macedonia
Andorra
Estonia

Anyway while did you list Scotland in that list you thought we got past to get to the Euros They are one team we are better than

On paper Belgium are the only team mentioned above that are better than us. We're on a par with the likes of Bosnia, Serbia and Turkey and the other below average teams teams you mentioned arent even worth repeating. And this is an ireland that constantly and dramatically under utilises its resources with a daft old manager with pigeon english who couldnt be bothered doing his job and watching players. Think how far we could go with a proper gaffer who actually was more interested in devleoping irish football then stubbornly sticking by his old fashioned failed methods!! Trap out, he should be in a retirement home somewhere day dreaming about the 80's and early 90's when he was relevant!!

Well said forest.

Thats a bit harsh.
Think about it logically (try to look at it as a non-Irish supporter), and then you will realise that any of those teams (and you could add a couple more in my opinion - Switz, Romania, Norway) could beat one another on their day.
Ireland are good, but not great.

Throwing together a team with a load of youngsters wont work - didnt for Staunton. Trap likes to pick player he knows will do a certain job for him.....frustrating, but effective against teams ranked similar to us (obviously not Croatia, Spain and Italy).

Lets just relax, get behind the team, and judge Trap's new era on the first 3/4 results.......and then you can send him to the retirement home.

Looks like Gibson is next! The havoc Trap's Neanderthal approach and player mismanagement is causing could damage Irish football for years. Need to remove this daft old bull from the china shop

I dont blame Gibson for withdrawing, to get a point across to trap. Maybe trap will learn a lesson or two. Doubt it.

I wouldn't be surprised if we head into the qualifiers with just McShane, O'Dea, Whelan and Trap surrounded by empty seats as they all play rock, paper, scissors as Delaney buys the pints!

posted on 2/9/12

Trap would love that. Trap becomes erect at the thought of McShane,Green,Whelan,O Dea and Keogh all in the same team.
