It is not working for him at Madrid because Alonso has been so good and Ozil is one of the best in the world at creating chances and threading balls through...
Perhaps Madrid are going to let Alonso go next summer and Sahin is his replacement however it is to hard to just drop Alonso because he has been immense so put Sahin out on loan for a year and make the Madrid team next year...
I think if he does sign he will play right next to Lucas and Allen and Gerrard will roam further up the pitch perhaps behind the front two strikers against "lesser" opposition who sit back and do not attack so much.. Against the "better teams" could be him Lucas and Gerrard close together to tighten up the midfield and with both his and Gerrard's passing range capable of splitting tight defensive units .. Would that mean Allen does not play every game? On current form the only midfielder we should drop is Gerrard but that will never happen will be very interesting to see how we line up....
Of coarse I might be totally wrong with all of that but just a guess...
He's far behind in line at real madrid, not surprising really. I'm hoping that if we can develop Sahin into a very good player this season and return him to Real, they may thank us in a years time offering to return us Alonso perhaps.
He will be 31 then and will suit both of us
But yeah if the Sahin deal collapsed this place would turn into a warzone
If it did collapse then really I would not be surprised if people got upset. For it to make the official web site and us to be telling the press the deal is about done fans would have every right to be annoyed...
Not seen too much of him - youtube aside - but can't really see who would not start if he came. Looks like he would be after either Lucas or Allen's place, so no idea where he would play if he came.
Rather than all this mucking about for a player in a position we don't REALLY need (although we need cover there), I would have preferred we went for Adam Johnson, but he's just signed for Sunderland.
Wish the window would close already, so we can concentrate on the football!
@Suarez_7: Well Said.
Are we sure that BR will always continue to play 4-3-3? With Downing not performing and Andy not able to live up to his billing, he might look to to shuffle it up a bit.
Also, there is no way that we will be dropping Gerrard, he just had one bad game, just ONE bad game. He is still the most important player for me and his partnership with Suarez will decide how our season will go.
He will bring an excellent kebab with Turkish delight to follow.
