ive managed to negotiate 20 days annual leave when the law says that everyone's entitled to 30 days.

what's stupid about it ?

america has been asking for this to happen by bring complicit in overthrowing established governments throughout north africa and the middle east. as ive been saying for months, their policies in these countries has been incredulous.

all their policies seem to have achieved is to have made some of the most potentially dangerous areas of the world less stable and more volatile, and caused chaos and bloodshed throughout the region.


in recent months theyve encouraged a rebellion in syria, which has resulted in that country and its people being torn apart. theyve turned their back on one of their longest standing allies in egypt and helped turn that country into an islamic republic.

whilst the deaths of these americans in libya is sad, perhaps it might make the american's think about what it is they are trying to achieve in the region.

I thought NEGOTIATING was your key skill in the day job.

ironic isnt it.

trouble is i was just leaving for dubai when theyre proposal came in.

i didnt really research the holiday situation much before replying because i was chilling by the pool etc.

theyre proposal was for 30 calendar days which was to include public holidays and weekends which took place during periods of leave.

i did a quick check on how many public holidays there are and that was it. the quick check i did indicate 14 or 15 days.

i thought that on that basis i could probably live without my normal 25 days so said that i dont accept the thing about weekends counting as leave but i want at least 20 days.

thinking about it now, i can almost guarantee they will argue about which public holidays you get leave for, and it will be a bit of a nightmare. i should have just said i dont accept the weekends rule and left it at that.

it's going to cause trouble now, i can see it already.

at the same time, i asked for an increase in the package. on that theyve come back and agreed a 4% increase, but have said they will split it down into salary, housing.....bonus. will probably end up being guaranteed of less than the original offer.

tbh, ive still got half a mind to just say boll----s and go off to the phillipines for the winter and have another look next year.

what i meant was that although theyve agreed to a nominal increase in the package, it now looks like theyre going to strip some of the package out and include it as a bonus rather than as guaranteed pay.

tbh, i coulndt really give a fak about the pay, it's the holidays that is pissssing me off. ive also agreed to come in weekends when necessary without overtime, which again is contrary to the labour law. i should have just kept my fakin mouth shut and dealt with it out there.

i still dont know what you mean though.

under what circumstances could i end up paying money to them ?
