Started playing on the wings occasionally as well, played well.
Now plays in CM and is amazing there as well.

Rafa always said gerrard would finish as a striker he'd certainly do a job there and he's not set the world alight in midfield so far this season.

Was easilly MoM against us on Saturday though.
Nah, think we've done our business now, maybe a DD surprise, but we wont get Dembele. Dempsey still on the cards though.

If ever there was a player that Arsenal really do need, he is it.
Because until Arsene brings in some backbone, Arsenal will slide down the pecking order. Other teams are just not standing still anymore.

It was the 08 season you're referring to but agree gerrard was great that year playing off Torres, wouldn't say he was a striker but he did play very high up the pitch. One big plus for gerrard that year was Alonso and masch playing behind him it gave him so much freedom.
He also had a great season in 07 off the right scored his highest amount of goals in that season, I'd like to see him play wide forward this year with Lucas Allen and sahin in a midfield 3, think him and Suarez either side either borini carrol or a new striker would be a handful and we'd also have sterling and downing as back up although after the city game sterling deserves to play on the left.
Got to admit, young Sterling looks impressive.
IMO Dembele has probably been the best player in the league for the last 18 months - pure class
Dembele would be selling himself short by moving to either LFC or Spurs.
He is top drawer.

Even Dembele himself won't believe the hype created on JA606.
