FINALLY......someone talks some sense...

that has been very good in the last 3 seasons,

And didnt win anything, bottled 2 fa cup semi finals and threw away big leads to blow 3rd and 4th 2 seasons running

yes we have a very good team but dont tell me it does not need new faces and better players in some areas

Only six? You're lacking ambition. Let's make it at least ten (keeping Bale) and push the transfer kitty to £150m. Get it done Levy.

I think we also need a new manager there is a fella on the South coast out of work looking for a new Club to manage.

Yes it does need some new faces, but not too many all at once and not with stupid amounts of money or weekly pay.
A keeper, playmaking midfielder and NEW STRIKER will do me.
Three decent signings this week will go a long way and shouldn't break the bank after sealing the Modric deal.

we have been good for a few seasons but what exactly do we have to show for it?

i will tell you what we have.. we have fack all.

got to the quarter finals of the CL only to be walloped by real madrid (cheers crouchy you tool), we have been smashed by fulham in the fa cup 4-0, by chelsea 5-1, embarassingly knocked out of the europa league.

so basically despite having a good team we have done absolutely nothing.

Chronic, surely you're under estimating how hard it is to finish fourth in the Premier League twice in three years. We're competing against teams with almost infinite resource or at least certainly a lot more than us. Yes, a trophy would be nice but the fact that we've been consistent in the toughest league in the world is an achievement especially given where we were not so long ago.

god some of u have short memorys, we have been poor for years the 4 years we have been good and all of a sudden people jujst want more, 2 or 3 signings at the most is all we need, god help some of our fans if we really did start to struggle, im guessing some of you wouldnt stick around

It's not a case of blowing 100 million on 6 players but spending big on 3/4. The fact is we have decent cover for the wings and up top if Ade gets injured we're equally as fudged.

We NEED to replace Modric and we need a long term replacement for Friedel

You get what you pay for so if it's 100 million then so be it.

"we have been poor for years the 4 years"

Spurs have been a PL top 5 team for 5 of the past 7 seasons, top 4 for 2 of the past 3. That is a serious entrenchment in spite of the Sky 4.

We need to complete the job and get ourselves N yrs of CL piggie trough.

dont try that round here... been going to the lane since i was 7. i am now 25.

spend upwards of £1000 a year on spurs going home and away and to cup games.

i can remember the dark days of michael brown and sean davis in midfield.

that said.... i am asking any of you what we actually have to show for these great last three seasons we have apparantly had... and the answer is nothing, apart from a slightly raised profile on the continent for our forage into the champions league.

thats just the way it is.... of course i wouldnt want to go back to the dark days of the 90s.

The fact is we have free'd up wages from outgoings and accumulated a significant amount of cash. We need to spend it. Levy has no excuse for not spending it either. When the new stadium was proposed he stated that the financing would affect transfers. So if he doesn't spend it where is it going??

yes he did state it which is the cause of much frustration. things might have changed due to rising costs, but if so he should let the fans know.

Chronic, completely agree. It's why I'm so disillusioned.

yes but benny on the flipside, i think we can all agree that Levy will act as he deems in the best interests of the club, rather than for his own personal gain.

so lets assess the situation at the end of the week

Some of your comments about acquiring players makes me laugh. The "permanent" members of the top 4 spots are not there "simply" because they are the best. They are the best because they attract the best players, either because they are in the Champions League or because they pay massive, enormous, mind-boggling wages.

We cannot offer either, top flight football in Europe or the sort of wages that would attract the out-and-out mercenaries.

It is not just a case of expecting Levy to go out and spend and bring in the players. The best, proven, and expensive players will go for the CL football or the wages, or both!

yes we are shopping in the next tier down... but there is lots and lots of class in that tier.

Chronic, completely agree I hope I'm wrong and he works his magic in the next 4 days.

"yes we are shopping in the next tier down... but there is lots and lots of class in that tier. "

Agreed, Chronic, exactly what I was saying. But..........the next tier down equates to the next tier down in performance, ie 5th place and lower. And quite a lot lower if we keep fvkin up against the Wigans and Norwich's of our league.

So the idea, and my point remains, we cannot expect Levy to go out and spend millions on players "in the next tier down" that are necessarily going to improve our 4th spot last time!!!
