I still can't get over the fact that we've reportedly paid less for him than Derby did for Sammon
Whats that 8? 9? 10? lost count
Its done, Fawaz has just tweeted it so all is confirmed. Great signing

9 is the magic number. That's what it is. It's the magic number. Da da da da da doo.
To be fair he can play right across the midfield in any part of a 4 or 5 in the middle, plus potentially he could be our best midfielder within a year or so
Lascelles is like a new signing. Cohen. That's what we would be saying after an inactive transfer window.

Dearie me Hoons, anybody with half a brain cell knows strikers are the most expensive position to buy into, a very good signing dont get me wrong but you look a tool comparing a midfielder to a strikers price

I'm pleased to announce that Henri Lansbury has become our ninth summer signing after joining from arsenal on a permanent deal
YEA BOY!
anyone know how long the deals for?
nevermind - OS says 4 years. Amazing signing.
Doesn't mean you weren't robbed though does it, OTR?
Not saying it does, but until hes had a season or two in the champ nobody knows do they.
OTR. You must be gutted atm seeing quality signing after quality signing come into the CG. So as a charitable gesture, I'll happily agree with you. Sammon is a better deal than Lansbury, 'because he's a striker'
Didn't we pay about the same for Cox though
surely this means one of mcgugan or majewski will leave this week now. we cannot have 5 top draw centre mids competing for 1 or 2 places. that just isn't healthy.
can't see a place for guedioura now in the starting line up. i think mcgugan has to be given a run in the team as we know he has so much ability and looks really up for it this season
Now he's a decent player.
Can we take McGugan off your hands please?
SO'D did say he wanted to add players with flexibility, especially later on in the season with possible injuries. Lansbury appears to be such a player. Will keep all the mid-fielders in their toes, which can only be a good thing.
Lansbury seems overpriced at 1 million if this is true. Having had him for a season, West Ham weren't interested, nor were Norwich who had him previously. Arsenal clearly feel he will never make the grade.
As a comparison, at the same stage of his career, Matt Derbyshire was a much better prospect with a far, far better goalscoring record than Lansbury.
