It's 3m with 5m spread out over 4 years. We probably have the 3m through the players we've sold + parachute payments so I guess we're banking on promotion for the rest of the money.

If the deal does go through then it will be a good signing although I'm not convinced about the price. £8 million is a lot and more money than we have spent for a very long time.

On the other hand the high fee puts more pressure on Kean. As we know Venky's only care about money and if it looks like we wont be going back up after this kind of outlay then I think Kean will be out the door.

Have to say this is something of a surprise! Venkys continue to give small inklings that they're not just trying to rob us blind. Of course none of it really matters until they get rid of the t***** in charge. But be good to see how he does with us.

I think it's a win win for us fans. Rhodes will score goals at this level. For the first time in a while I feel excited about off the field activity, I've seen him a number of times and he looks like he scores all sorts of goals. I'm in no way saying he'll ever be anywhere near the class of Shearer, but he has a similar sort of game - good in the air, can beat a man and smack it in, scores tap ins. He also seems like a really grounded guy, none of that typical footballer brashness or arrogance.

And best of all it puts Kean under huge pressure to succeed.
