Sturridge and Dempsey would be awesome!!!

Now I would be very happy with him. Has the right attitude for a player who will score goals, but please don't play him out wide Brendan!

Sigh, really hope this isnt true

I can't say I'd be thrilled, I've never been a huge Sturridge fan. I'd be more than happy to be proven wrong though.

And it seems that Torres is only happy when he is the only centre forward, he doesn't seem to handle competition for his place well, hence why Villa has always outshone him for the national team.

that's the managers decision

Torres was assigned donkey work and distraction role

Can't see it with Sturridge...he's a worse fit for our style than AC...

apparently, dempsey was the man if we hadn't been able to sell carroll. and if we did which we have (sort of), then we would try to sign either huntelaar or llorente instead. so either or, not both. llorente gets the nod for me. he can score goals like huntelaar but his link up play with the rest of the team is better

actually change that llorente's link up play is genius, suarez will thrive alongside him

Id be happy with any of Dempsey or Llorente.

Huntelaar I'd say yes but I've not seen a great deal.

Llorente would be perfect. A man can dream.

Llorente would be perfect in every way for us, just won;t happen sadly

Maybe so. But it seems that he did well in Euro 2012 when he was the only striker Spain had, on the occasions they decided not to just through midfielders at the problem and hope it clicked.

And he was hopeless for Chelsea with Anelka and Drogba there, has now come good with virtually no competition for his place.

Don't get me wrong, the guy is a quality footballer, but he doesn't seem to be able to play in any system other than one with him as the sole goal threat.

And out of interest, who do people, in an ideal world, think would fit with our system. It's a really specific role, and there aren't many attackers around who would fit. I'd probably say Tevez or Aguero myself.

Why would we get Llorente? We have just sold a similar player in Carroll on loan and BR wants his front players to press and have pace to run at defenders. I think a front 3 of ---Sturridge--------Suarez--------Dempsey would be very good. A mix of skill, pace, passion and range of experience.

I think Sturridge would be a brilliant acquisition for Liverpool

I agree with that Igor

But him being less prolific for Spain was down to the manager rather than 'Villa outshining him' IMO

Sturridge, Suarez, Dempsey would be good. but all three have a tendency to throw a wobbly. i'd rather:
Suarez...Llorente..Sterling

Whatever happens, if we get him, Dempsey has to start.

Sturridge does imo have the type of game that would fit in with the style that Rodgers plays. However, I can't see Chelsea selling him unless Roman once again opens his wallet and buys another one or even two strikers and cover/competition for Torres.

Sturridge comes across as a bit of a bell, but he has good ability and could become a quality player. Under the first few months under AVB he looked decent and he did very well when on loan.

He may not be a popular choice amongst some fans, but I think he could do a job for us.

and llorente is in no way similar to andy carroll. just coz he's 6ft 5, doesn't make him a similar player. he plays great with the ball on the floor and doesn't fall over all the time like carroll does

Llorente is a very skillful player who would contribute to our all round play exactly as BR wants. But could then get on the end of a cross to score.

He's not the same as Big Andy, he's much more well rounded.

Exciting day tomorrow Expect Liverpool to be in the yellow bar a good few times before the window closes

Yeah, that's probably fair. The fact that Torres didn't play in the 'Barcelona' style, that Spain clearly wanted to adopt, week in week out probably counted against him in that respect, he was there to have his reputation take defenders out of the game and leave space for others.
