When you give yourself a few hours to complete a multi million pound deal you leave yourself open to this type of thing happening
nothing to do with us leaving 3 months of transfer window to the last 30 minutes then
If a kid leaves his homework to the last minute, but soon realises he doesn't have a critical document to complete his work. Is it the kids fault? Or the person who forgot to include the document?
If Levy did the deal the rest of the 90+ days he had prior to Friday, he'd be your player right now.
my theory is that there was no intention to sign moutinho from levy.
Levy sacked Harry and hired AVB, is that also not his fault?
We could not afford to do it sooner, Porto wanted 30 million and only agreed to 22 million cos they were desperate for the cash.
I'm glad Harry was sacked for AVB
my theory is that there was no intention to sign moutinho from levy.
You know something I've been thinking the very same thing
Hod ....Harry getting sacked was as much his own fault as anything else
On Mout does this mean a Jan signing ????
messiah.... i dunno if you remember but at the start of the window when everyone was talking about how much we would spend, i made a point about knowing for a fact that levy was looking to make a 10 mill profit from this transfer window.... thats through a very reliable source at HSBC, who works with spurs on a daily basis, and spurs do all dealings through HSBC.
so i am not at all surprised to see us make money this window.

i agree..
stadium is so important.
i have vented frustrations in the past that previous chairman didnt adequately address the issue... the stadium should have been forseen imo and plans started to be made years ago... we are behind, unecessarily. the tame 4k increase when the ground was redeveloped was so unambitious.
also Levy did reassure the fans saying that the stadium would not be built to the detriment of the playing team.
however, i am not going to have a go at Levy if he is pushing the funds towards the stadium. he has a hard job
Only seen one story on it, but doubts cast on any real effort by Levy to secure AVB's number one target. Something hasn't added up for me about the whole transfer. Not sure that this is the answer but can't think of many others than Levy just went through the motions to appease AVB. Basically says we didn't even bid:

Absolutely
Some say Levy is frustrating I'll not argue with that but he has a massive balancing act on his hands....We have to get the new home BUT we also have to have a team fit to play in it........I know it's been a poor start to the season and a lot of fans are thinking the worse and TBH i can see why but it's early days and we do have a number of key squad members unavailable ...In the words of that great song
Thingsssss can only get better
"my theory is that there was no intention to sign moutinho from levy"
My understanding is that :
1. We cannot afford his wages
2. If there was potential haggling to be done, the timing made it impossible.
Any/both of which would support your claim.
Nothing to do with the fact that he began serious negotiations on the last day of the transfer window surely?
Daddy chronic,
I might know who that source is
