I'm not buying into the whole "transition and adjustment" talk a lot of folk are going on about. With the players we have brought in, and the way we have played the first few games, anything outside the play-offs has to be seen as a failure this season. I'm confident we'll finish top 6 tho

I think the whole reason a lot of fans say that we should bide our time, and aim for mid table finish, is that they don't want to set themselves up for a fall. But we've got arguably the best midfield and attack in the league, we should be aiming high. And we're definitely not under the radar. Signing players like Cox, Sharp, Lansbury and Hutchinson means we're very much on the radar!

Saying that, a mid-table finish this season has to be seen as success after last years fiasco

The fact is that teams like Charlton don't know how to cope with our flowing football. I am not saying Charlton are a bad side it's just another gulf in class and it showed. Many teams will come to the CG to try and stop us playing in any which way we can ....we just need to be patient and out think the opposition oh and take our chances too when they come. I don't think we are under the radar now what with the signings, unbeaten and sitting joint second and one point off the top. It's looking good and Landsbury hasn't kicked a ball yet !! I thought Billy showed some class when he chipped the keeper, talk about confidence and cool

Will people pleasestop calling him Landsbury - that is not his name

ooooops typo...I meant Lansbury!! or our Henri ....

Please stop getting carried away. It's four games! We are doing well for sure but it's only four games. This could be our best period of the season! We will lose games and have times when we struggle.

I agree we look good and of course we all hope we will do well. But we can't talk about promotion after 4 games!! Look at Swansea, they are second! Are they thinking about champions league? No! They just know they have started well and that's it! Same as us. Great start lets what and see what we can do!

I'm not getting carried away. Any team that buys in the quality of players that we have should be aiming for promotion. The owners and management have made a massive statement of intent by bringing in the players they have, and to expect any less than a top 6 finish this season

... is churlish. We know what it takes to achieve this , and with a good manager at the helm hopefully this time round we won't get rolled over in the first round of playoffs

"To expect anything less than a top six finish this season is churlish"

This is what I mean. There ate too many good teams in
This league to have any expectations! Your saying 7th wouldn't be good enough? There are teams in this with better players than us, bigger squads and more money to spend. Most of the teams challenging hav had a few years to build their teams and have added one or two quality additions, like Blackpool. Why do you "expect" us to immediately be better than them with almost an entirely new team?

My point is, we cannot judge where we are or how good we are after four games.

Granted. But the quality in our squad matches, if not betters, that of most other teams in the division. In Cox and Sharp, we have two premier league quality strikers, in Landbury, Pep and possibly Lewis we have 3 premier league quality midfielders, same with Collins and Hutch in defence. The rest are very good Champ players.

I understand it's probably right to be cautious, but I really feel we have a manager, owners and players capable of achieving promotion this season. Certainly more than I ever did when the poisoned dwarf was at our helm!

Hoons that's a bit harsh on Billy, for what he did for us. But I agree with what you say. This article is about are we under the radar....not anymore, even after four games. Now it's about managing expectations and the team performing to the level it's capable of.....which is a top six level. We should know we have been there twice in recent seasons.

Under the radar?

No, everyone's heard of the 'Man City of the Midlands'.

HOONS - HIS NAME IS LANSBURY. I do think you all need to calm down - we're lacking in certain areas still and don't have as much cover as we need. We COULD make the playoffs, or even challenge for automatic, but there is no way an unsuccessful challenge for teh playoffs as a failure this season.

soz. Predictive text object on my phone obviously prefer Landbury

And for what it's worth I completely agree with you. We could and should do well this season, but any improvement on last season is fine with me

Not sure if a team like Forest can ever be under the radar. Even when we were rubbish, people who knew nothing about football thought we'd be challenging.

Blackpool, Bolton and Blackburn will finish top 6 without a doubt. I think Blackburn will win the league based on what I've seen so far. Then you have Cardiff, Wolves, Birmingham, Leeds and Leicester who will all challenge. Brighton and Boro also look quite strong. I think it will take something special to go up this year and I can't see anyone, bar Blackburn running away with it.

Blackburn fans seem to think they have the squad but clueless manager who they think will fluck it up for them ...I hope so too.

Sacking Sean OD was the biggest mistake at Donny ever.
Gillett, Copps and Sharp are tremendous players.
Sean's method of play reminds me of Old Cloughie. Just give him time and he will produce the goods. Just look at the amount of money he has spent so far. I can't change my club but I will always follow his results. Show him loyalty and you have him for the rest of his career. Sit back and enjoy the journey back to the top of that I am sure.

Cheers Alex -

Hope Donny have a good season.

We are just hoping not to go down but I am very confident you have the right man in Sean OD A manager with principles now that alone is rare in football.

Alex... I totally agree with your comments about Mr O'Driscoll and have nothing but admiration for him..of course you cannot change allegiance to your club but maybe we could adopt you or you could be a sorta foster fan..
All the best to Donny this season
