I agree, I don't think he will go for a pay as you play. And his hamstrings are made of wet tissue paper.

And I can't say I am blinded by nostalgia. Owen was the first reason I really started to follow Liverpool. I was around 6 when he scored that goal against Argentina for England, and not being from Liverpool, in a school of United fans, Owen was the reason I started following Liverpool. To say he was my favourite player is an understatement.

When he left for Madrid, I was gutted. When he joined United, I felt betrayed. I've thrown as much abuse at him as anyone. I don't like him as a person.

But, I'm thinking in terms of what is best for us. Here we are, without a striker in all honesty, until January. He's available now. And if we don't go for him, we have missed our last shot of getting in an attacker until the new year.

I don't like it. But I see it as cutting off our nose to spite our face if we don't take the chance on him. We're willing to throw away our season because of old grudges.

we will play better football than most of the league but how many points we get is a real concern.

You are playing bad football....hence the points haul you have

That's not really true Fellaini, we're playing better football than we've seen here in a long time. Not saying much I know. Our problem is, our 'goalscorers' are as effective as a boat made of biscuits and way too many individual errors.

Igor. the table doesn't lie.

It doesn't. We're getting bad results. But there is a difference between bad results and bad football. But, I suppose it is a matter of opinion.

There must be some people who think that hoofball is good football, and that possession pass and move football is unnecessary huff and puff.

Each to their own I suppose.

If Liverpool had played hoofball today and won,you lot would be chuffed.

Well yeah, we'd be happy with the win.

I was happy with the few games England won at the Euros. Doesn't mean I enjoyed watching it, or thought it is the way I really want the national team to play long term.

Table doesn't lie, we've been getting crap results.

But let me ask you this Fellaini, who plays better football, Wigan or Stoke?

Who finished higher last season?

posted on 2/9/12

Doesn't matter how you play. If.you don't win its all pointless really.

Fellaini of course the points are the only thing at the end of the day that matter - but lets agree your lot got 0 points yesterday but we can all see that Everton are going the right way. I would much rather follow Everton than West Brom. If we would of had a Jelavic type of player we would have eaten City by about 6 or7 goals

no, not really

I was generally disgusted at most of our wins under Roy. It was taking (rare) points at the expense of long term hope and generally depressing and humiliating.

Winning with busparkhoofball is like snogging a really ugly bird with a horrible breath and a bad personality.

You don't go "wahoo I got a snog"

See we had a Jelavic on the pitch and it went wrong when Gibson went off. Plus West From.are a better side than i gave them credit for.

Suarez should and must get more goals......all the fancy stuff doesn't cut the mustard.

See RVP punish saints today....share should be doing just the same

Suarez is one of the best players in the prem, even though IMO he had his worst game in a red shirt today - but he is not a natural goal scorer. Due to his brilliance he finds himself infront of goal but usually fails to score. Owen, Fowler, Shearer, Jelavic are/were very average if not below average players but they could score for fun..we need this type of player

posted on 2/9/12

Owen/Fowler......shearer average players?

posted on 2/9/12

I'd have Mickey back on a pay as you play.

posted on 2/9/12

I won't even shame those three greats by naming Jelavic with them.

posted on 2/9/12

Average at best, Fowler better than Owen.

Give Owen a ball to cross, a set piece , a ball to control he was poor ....its a compliment they didn't need to play they just wanted to score and thats what they did

The likes of Eidur Gudjohnson, Van Persie, Bergkamp were footballers aswell as forwards

posted on 2/9/12

But they never scored the goals those three did.

And Shearer....all time.record goal scorer. Free kicks, tap ins, headers and 20 yard streamers.....

Yeah he was never world class

posted on 2/9/12

I am saying play them anywhere else on the park other than upfront they would have been wasted, Suarez can play on the flanks or behind the front men

its a goodnight from me, getting grief been on here most of the day

posted on 2/9/12

Yeah.....wide or up front. He can't match these average players goal returns.......just just and move

Come off it, you wouldn't feel as bad now if you had the 3 points,no matter how you got them. I've known reds defend players for diving to get pens, but playing hoofball goes against the grain? You need to get off your high horse mate, points are points (I'm against diving tho).

as a one-off match?

yes, I'd take that in a heartbeat. Even United played 90 minutes of hoofball against us once. Sometimes it's right on the day.

As a week in, week out style? absolutely no, I'd rather drop points working toward a better long term strategy.

indeed. all those players weren't blessed with the greatest skill but they knew/know where the net is! gary lineker, not the greatest of players technically but he was just a goal scorer. van nistelrooy was the same
