Because if he's not in the team who will be the scapegoat until Parker is fit again?

I don't think he is being made a scapegoat. I just think at this stage of his career he is not good enough to be a regular starter. I was at the game Saturday and don't recall anyone having a go at him. It is just on this discussion forum we have been debating his worth to the team compared to others for example Sandro.

Because we sold Modric. If Jenas played then he'd get booed and people would have a go at AVB. If Huddlestone played and whilst still not match fit people would have a go at AVB for playing someone who isn't match fit. If Dembele started the other day and played rubbish, people would have a moan at AVB for playing someone unused to the system. Essentially he hasn't had much choice other than to play Livermore. Also people love a moan.

This is very true

JPB...I'd have Levy top of my scapegoat list. The reality is, if he'd pulled his finger out and gone for Moutinho sooner we wouldn't be having the discussion on Livermore anyway.

Groove - i wasnt listing the real culprits, i was (kinda) listing those who we like to unfairly blame. i included livermore at the top of the list mainly because that was how the conversation started. notwithstanding that he was awful on saturday i do think he should be somewhere near the top of the list as everyone was already slating him after newcastle where he was actually one of our best players imo. if i was doing a list of who is most to blame, id have harry somewhere near the top personally.

From now on we need to be only starting one of Sandro and Livermore till Parker is fit. That has to be Sandro of course. I rate Livermore but just dont see the point of playing both of them.

No worries JPB, it wasn't a criticism.

After the Moutinho/Llorente/Willian/Remy saga of last week I'm not even sure you can blame Harry that much.

He ran certain players (Modric, Bale, Parker and Walker in particular) into the ground last year. The critical point there is how much was down to him and how much was due to Levy not allowing us to buy in January...answer that and you have your culprit.

If Levy is trying to do things on the cheap, which now appears to have been the case the last few windows, the buck should stop with him. If it's because of the new stadium that's fair enough, but then he should at least stop pretending to go for marquee players.

Too many of our players were hiding against Norwich our movement was very poor that is why we struggled to break them down they allowed us to play in front of them two banks of 4 !!

Chronic... if bale doesn't feel confident then Vertonghen should be given a chance, as he is supposed to be a free kick specialist of sorts

posted on 3/9/12

Either way Defoe should not be taking freekicks.

He couldnt look more less interested if he tried.

That aside, guess who's top of my scapegoat list?

Livermore is O'Hara: The Sequel

I'm certain though that AVB will start a CM of Dembele and Livermore though. I'm not sure he rates Sandro.

i'm sorry but i think livermore is a decent player still learning his game at the top level. can also play in other positions. stop making scapegoats out of one player or the manager. have you forgotten football is a team game?
