I am not not nit picking but Gibbs is 22
It's all right 100%, your article was great

I dont know of he was giving out or just telling Giroud to get up and brush it off. He seemed to be trying to pick him up
The last player to have a go at a teammate for missing a chance was RvP, who confronted Ramsey after his last-minute miss vs. City last season

Can't remember this. Any link?
no worries mate - i agree 100% we don't need cliques, ego's or people having a go at team-mates - can't be good for morale
We don't, it was after the final whistle, it was mentioned in an article by one of RvP's close friends. Apparently RvP and Rambo didn't get on, might be a reason why he looked better and more confident in the Olympics and has done so far this season as well.
Good article.
Yes Giroud messed up and could have sweated it to Gibbs, but Giroud's a striker and is without a goal so can't be blamed for shooting. If he hadn't shot and Gibbs had messed it up, I doubt Giroud would have screamed at him.
Also someone should have reminded Gibbs of how his team mates treated him after 'the slip'
Honestly think this article, although well written, is a bit of an overreaction.
Oh God as usual everyone is overreacting to this.
What is this even about? Move on please
It may seem like an overreaction but it's only because I really want Giroud to do as well as possible and have the confidence flowing because he could be fantastic for us.
Also I love writing, especially about Arsenal, so once I start I kind of get carried away, writing is the only thing I'm good at so I felt urge to write a long article to be honest...
That was poor from Gibbs tbh, he shouldn't be doing that. I was surprised because he's got a good attitude.
Our players should have competitive natures, gibbs wants the team to do well. Giroud is a grown man, I am sure this is not even an issue!
Ok, this has been blown overboard. Giroud's a grown boy now, I think he can handle it. Yes maybe Gibbs should've handled it better, but it was pretty crap from giroud. It should have atleast hit the target.
Of course they should want to win, but that 'competitive spirit' needs to be more about teamwork and support. Sure, if someone is strolling around the pitch like they own the place, then someone needs to have a go. But Giroud is putting in all he can. If any player berates teammates, it is the captain or the goalkeeper. Otherwise it should be left to the manager/assistant manager. RvP's penalty was the most ridiculous excuse for a penalty I've seen for a long time yet you didn't see anyone running up to him and sshouting?

Gibbs' reaction showed that he lacks that bit of maturity. He should be aware of the pressure that Giroud is under, after van Persie's exploits of last season. The last thing that he needs is a left back telling him how to do his job.
Giroud made the right decision in trying to score, it isn't comparable to the Ramsey situation against City, as Ramsey really should have released van Persie.
If any of you play football then you can understand why gibbs got annoyed. Its the heat of the moment and Giroud misses a gd chance to put us 2 up when gibbs was there for a tap in. Its a natural reaction from gibbs, not a big deal.
On a side note anyone notice how different rvp interview was after the match? He never talked like that at arsenal. He seems to have the man utd arrogance in him already.
Gibbs should wind his neck in. He's a kid, he's not a striker, and given the mistakes he's made before (such as his costly tumble against United in the CL a couple of years back) he should get off Giroud's back. Giroud needs some backing to get him through his initial drought.
Although if he takes more than one more game, our glass-legged left back might have got himself injured again, in which case he won't be in a position to nark Giroud on pitch for a while.
^ ugh
Gibbs just overreacted in the moment because he wanted to score a goal in the prem
Giroud has the potential to put a few noses out of joint given he's a prettyboy striker but im sure everyone gets on just fine
Gibbs probably shouldn't have reacted like that but Giroud should of either passed or scored, the good thing is it wasn't costly. If they had equalised after him missing that there's a chance people would see it differently.

I had the same impression. For me it seems to be like "come on move on the next goes in".
