Going in the right direction

Agreed, for 75 minutes that was best performance from the B team for some time. When you consider the pony thursday night and cup games over the past couple of seasons.

Barca's third was the Torres one, right?

I don't think either CB did much wrong today tbh, mistakes were on other players
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think it matters anyway. If either are starting for us in the league something bad has happened
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Clearly didn’t watch Barcas 3rd. Dier just let him go through him. He is absolutely atrocious.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm glad he was showed up tonight. He cannot be relied upon. Hopefully Ange saw it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I’m certain Ange doesn’t rate him. He doesn’t fit in his system whatsoever
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No way should he even be even considered as 4th choice. He has a year left. Cash in now.

Yeah Fati got the last one

On form, Sunday's line up should be

Vic(no other option)
Emerson
Romero
VDV(Baptism of fire)
Udogie
Bissouma
Maddison
GLC or Sarr
Peri
Kane
Kulu

No way Dier gets a start. Ange is not that stupid.

Neither Sanchez or Skipp will start, no chance. Only starter from the starting XI tonight will be the goalie.

Yeah Skipp was pretty much faultless tonight. Let Ange decide the last spot.

I say we chuck VdV in. He's fit. No point losing a game to realise that he should be starting

I got to say even the goalie did not impress me. 3 times today he "saved" shots that were going wide or over and gave corners away. Why we did not pay an extra few quid for Raya god only knows.

If Hojberg starts in front of Bissouma than the new manager needs shooting.

I am impressed with the new left back tho but we need to keep Kane Richarlson is pathetic he is more interested in creating trouble than playing football

Even if makes a mistake so be it. We have to be patient with him. But any balls played in behind the defence he should mop up with his pace.

It does not matter if he has one leg he has to be better than Dier and Sanchez

Didn't see the match but saw the highlights. I notice we put our weak CB pairing out and conceded 4 goals. Dier looked shiiite from the highlights. We cannot afford to be playing an important game and have one of the usual suspects playing in defence it seems.

Encouraging that Skipp got a couple of goals. That's unexpected. Perhaps he's been working on that under Ange.

They are both capable of good games and calamitous games. I wouldn't trust either on the back of one or a handful of good performances. We've been here before.

I think Skipp scoring today is a good reflection of what people have been saying about the system creating goals instead of relying on one player... The midfield 8s should find themselves in the box pretty often to pick up chances on the overload.

Skipp has never looked like a good finisher to me when he's been in those forward positions so it might just be personal improvement in front of the box as much as Ange's system dictating it. Good to see all the same.
