Me to it goes to show that a big reputation is not everything, I am not Poch's biggest fan but I prefer him to LVG

I really wanted Van Gaal at the time as wanted someone to come in and sort the big mess out left by AVB/Tim & Levy but he just seems clueless at United and talks absolute nonsense.

I also believed the hype about him but so far IMO he has done nothing whatsoever to justify his big time reputation.

Yes utd are winning but after the money they spent and the squad they already had so they should have.

I honestly think that nowadays it seems so easy for managers and players to be declared world class when they really are not anywhere near that great

Have to agree Grand.

There's no special about him at all just throws money around on players then over complicates it with wired systems.

Much rather a manager/Coach like poch

I thought the same when Capello was manager of England. I was all excited thinking we had some football genius taking over and IMO he was totally useless. yet another "top" manager supposedly.

Whats your thoughts on this season so far? Been a while since we've had a chat.

A couple of our performances have been superb as in chelsea at home and woolwich at home.

I am not Pochs biggest fans half the time his team selections baffle me and his substitutions also worry me but he has not been the disaster that AVB was IMO.

I am not a fan of playing one up front, particularly the way we play it, but on the plus side the likes of Adebayor and Kaboul that have been stealing a living IMO have been put in their places so thats good.

Sunday was the most boring final ever and they were no better than us I just thought it was a dreadful game.

Not as good a season as I had hoped for but not really a disaster and it is better than watching an AVB side even if only just

I don't think on the whole his team selections are bad when he's choosing his main X1 it's when he starts to rotate and we see the squad players just aren't good enough.

Lloris
Walker Dier Verts Rose
Mason Bentaleb
* Eriksen *
Kane

* can be two from Lamela, Townsend, Dembele & Chadli as these are all similar level.

The above team I think 9 out 10 would say that's our strongest team but once you leave out kane & Eriksen and put in Soldado & paulinho then we go from a 7/10 team to a 4.5/10 team which is a massive drop.

I agree his subs are strange at times though.

Going forward I believe we need to get a better CM to play alongside Bentaleb, a better inside forward to play on the right & a Pacey striker at minimum in the summer while promoting some youth players.

Adebayor, Vlad, Paulinho,Lennon, Capoue and Soldado all need to go. Unfortunate about Soldado as he's a trier and clearly cares about the club but just not going to work out

My summer targets would be

wide forward- Depay or Konoplynka ( maybe both )

Striker - Ings, Lacazatte

Cm - schniederlin

CB - Moreno

Youth that should become squad players are Prichard, Ali.

I think poch has done better than most people had hoped for and if he hits 5th or 6th then been a very good season.

Btw I'm not saying we could sign them players but they'd be my personal choice

Hi buddy cheers for the invite

As you can probably tell i have a huge interest in the young players coming through at Spurs and that we have a coach who gives them every chance. In 27 years of supporting spurs we have never been blessed with such a large bunch of talented youngsters.

Perhaps i was a bit premature with my comments regarding Carter-Vickers, Onomah, Peters etc after all they are very young.

I certainly hope Ali and Pritchard get a chance in the first team squad though as loaning them out seems pointless to me as we can offer them games in the early rounds of cup competitions and who knows a route into the first team squad for the bigger games.

Its looking likely that we will try and shift Kaboul and Chiriches in the summer so that will leave us with 3 cb's in Dier, Vertonghen and Fazio.
We are crying out for an experiences cb with leadership qualities to make it 4.

I think in an ideal world we need 4 full backs and 5 centre backs in a squad playing in Europe so who do you think can step up as back up.

Velkovic is hugely promising (even though he has a bad injury now) and some even favour Ball.

Also what do you think of Tom Carroll getting a chance under Poch next season?

Lads

We 100% need a decent CB maybe even a old head like gallas at the time.

Will be a big pre season for carrol as if he doesn't impress then he'll likely be sold. Still seem incredibly lightweight for me.

Prichard 100% should be in the squad next season he's proved his worth now and is a big upgrade on Paulinho.

Ali I'm not so sure as I am a big fan but he's stepping up from league 1 and think he might struggle at first. Personally if MK get into championship then I'd leave him with them next season as Robbo is working wonders with him just a shame he got injured especially for MK

Onomah needs to loan next year as he's really only played youth football so far.

We have a bright future but a lot are at a crossroad from youth to top class football so we will see who had got the drive to make it as talent alone not enough.

Bentaleb has come on so much since the world cup.

Last season I thought he was an okay player not that special but this season he's become so good and hopefully keeps getting better

I dont think there is a better young CM in the premier league than Bentaleb (of the u21 bracket anyway)

He has got all of the tools to make it to the top of the game. He's great in possession and can accelerate past a player, has great skill, Confidence with a touch of arrogance which i like, and very good in the tackle too.

With experience his positioning and reading of the game will improve and if he can add a few goals a season to his game (although primarily a defensive player) then he really will be a top top player.

he is very very good, and going to become exceptional if he carries on his improvement.

has only been in first team set up for a year and a few months.

exciting times !!!

am a big mason fan too.. I wasn't convinced for a long time, and although when we buy a cm it will be to upgrade him, we need to keep him around the squad !
