I gave an opinion as I saw the game. If Spurs play well I praise them, if like they do not play that well I dig them out. Main thing is they won, but there were some woeful performances from the three players I mentioned.
Beautiful day today, should be a cracking game.

Hi all.
I would have started Rose, he has pace and is stronger than Davies. Think we'll need both against Palace's attack. Had a feeling he wouldn't start though after playing midweek and not giving his best performance. He's still our best left back.
Lamela. Last chance for him I reckon.
No Mason, Bentaleb or Dembele. Nobody to control the pace of the game.

Lamela FFS. Ah well have to get behind him and hope he turns in a worldy.
Lamela has got an assist and goal last two games. Unlucky not to have another. People are bashing him for the smallest mistakes now but back Townsend to start over players like Chadli..
Rose was abject midweek, I reckon Davies is Poch`s Number One left back now, and Rose looks like he had the hump, and played like he did. Could be the end for him I reckon.

An assist and goal that paper over the cracks of his overall performance this season so far.
I Can understand people not being happy with Lamela starting but one thing I will say is atleast he contributes one way or the other. 1 goal and 1 assist in his last 2 games not to shabby. Needs to cut out his terrible fouling and stop giving the ball away. Townsend on the other hand doesn't contribute at all and just runs into blind alleys.
Yeah I understand that but at least he got the goal/ assist. We have plenty of players who stay out of the Spurs bashing because they avoid mistakes with simple non threatening passes.

Rose helps balance the team better than Davies does with his forward play. I'm hoping Poch has been playing Davies over Rose more due to fitness reasons than genuinely considering Davies the better option.
Then again we don't know how both have performed in training.

That is true Spurtle but I also think this applies to Chadli. A lot of spurs supporters are quick to jump on your back when you suggest Chadli being dropped due to his goal. Fair play I like Chadli and he does score goals but I still expect a lot more from him. He goes missing through large chunks and is so lethargic which slows our play down. Me personally I would prefer pace down the sides.
Don
Townsend is tripe, never going to make it at Spurs, needs to move on. As you say whislt I have been a big critic of Lamela last 12 months, I think he does at least offer something.
Don, how much more game time has Lamela been given compared to Townsend though? Even midweek Townsend was taken off before 70 minutes and Lamela was given the full 90. Nothing to suggest Townsend couldn't have contributed something in those last 20 minutes like Lamela did, as they were both as bad as each other while on the pitch together.
Not trying to support Townsend by the way, who I think isn't really good enough either, but making the point that Lamela has been given ample opportunity.

Chadli has underperformed too this season. He's contributed more to Spurs since they both came to the club however, and of course isn't our record signing who we were expecting big things from.
