I know a lot don't listen to suppose ITKs but a respectable one on SC has said everything is agreed with Dembele but Fulham are waiting to get a replacement in
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good to hear.
I though we were superb going forward today, another day and you are 2 or 3-0 up at halftime.
A lot of individual errors today though, sloppy passes, half tackles and weak clearances. Let them have a few chances they didn't really deserve

Spurs dominated the game, but Palace had two small spells when they hit the bar twice and when Lloris made a couple of good saves. Spurs defending during those periods was horrendous. Just could not clear the ball properly. However other than those spells, Spurs were well worth their win.
Henge, which "itk" said that mate? I'm like you in that i take a little interest in the spurs community message board so i know some of the itk's with the supposed better reputations as such
wow westham. City are so unreliable

Was trix mate
Trix, usually good. We will see.
Only 2 points behind city now.
Only the 17 points above Chelsea
Seriously, apart from an uncharacteristic faaack up from Vertonghen how balanced did we look today? Massive performance - no weak links - all attacking players capable of causing damage. Well played Poch for giving in. Well played Spurs.
Today was a big big game for us and its the type of game we have collapsed in before. Fair play to the team and the manager for a very decent 3 points I say

Ace
Got to agree with you there, Rose is ok going forwards but defensively he is still atrocious at times, a lot of times now I think about it

Rose was the weak link for me, caught out of position too much and even when he was there Zaha was murdering him. I'd start Davies every Prem game, much steadier player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Remember the Saints game last month? Mane had two great chances at 0-0, both largely Davies fault.
Easily muscled off the ball on halfway (out of position), then let him goal side for the other after being caught further up the pitch.
I think a lot of fans still see the left back position as it was 10+yrs ago, where being in position means being within spitting distance of the centre back
Poch likes his to be wingers too. Our fullbacks have to be the winger even more than they have to be a defender. That's why we have Eric Dier sitting in front of the back four - when Rose goes, Jan should become the left back and Dier the centre back.
It's a dangerous game when you come across a team that play two banks of four with quick wingers - ask Maicon

Sorry but I cant agree with that at all. Dier is there to protect the centre backs not to allow them to disappear when they feel the need

That may be your preferred way, but it is not the coach's
The fullbacks push on, the centre backs split and Dier drops almost between them when needed.
It's no coincidence we have such a good unit when Toby and Jan play fullback for Belgium, and Dier is a centre back by trade. It comes naturally, and we went the full hog v Watford
The fullbacks now provide all of our width. Son may take players wider more than any of the other forwards, but they generally stay within the width of the box.
When Rose (or Walker, Trippier, Davies) is caught high up the pitch, if there is a break on them the centre back from that side should shift over to fullback, with Dier dropping in to fill the gap left, and Dembele filling his position.
HRH
Some fans just can't get their head round fullbacks being more attacking than defensive.
These are the same fans that moan we have a lack of width though
Or moan that Eriksen or Chadli have been ineffective from the left, when Davies is 'in position' and can't get up outside quick enough for the overlap
As daft as it sounds, the full back's responsibility to defend is almost secondary to their attacking role.
I watched the goal again and i take back my blame for Vertonghen. Although he put the ball in his own net, he actually recovered very well. I think Eriksen could have done better from Vertonghen's pass.
both to blame...verts wasn't really in control of the pass to eriksen..and you could argue shlda gone upfield or row z.....but likewise eriksen shlda gathered it...!!!

Yeah i'll go along with that. I just thought my initial blaming on JV was harsh after watching it again.
