Cech & Kos out for Saturday
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Poor caaaants!!! We have to capitalise on this. Must!
Lucky for Arsenal we have a non scoring striker so won't need them
To be honest I think Spurs have not had a bad week, we always knew this game would be tricky, although I have to say I was not impressed with West Ham at all, and on a decent passing pitch, I think Spurs would have taken them to the cleaners. The bottom line is Spurs have gained 3 points on both Arsenal and City this week, and lost no real ground on Leicester who had two gimmee home games and only gained one extra point. Spurs will still be in second place, could be first by the end of the North London Derby, so I think we would all take that anyway.
sandy
You are right it is no big disaster because of the other results but I was a bit disappointed we never changed tactics in at least the last 10 to have a real go at equalising but if you had of told me after losing at OT on the opening game that our next away defeat would have been in March I would have taken that for sure.
So much for Dier getting the deliberate yellow by the way. Most of the rest of the team got one though.

That's the 'philosophy' that got us here I guess?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Great temas adapt to circumstances
chicken
Lamela might not have played well but he was far from the worst player on the pitch so how the hell can you blame him?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't blame him - I blame Poch for it. It has been clear over the Prem season he has been our poorest player week after week - I don't know what he thinks will change.
He don't suit the Prem - never has. He's like a headless chicken out there. I was cringing for him.
We're all upset but as soon as I saw his name on teamsheet I knew we'd lose.
Chicken you probably think we'll lose every game where Lamela starts, and yet here we are second in the league, and he must have started at least half the games.
As grand says he wasn't the worst player on the pitch. And at least he somewhat compensates with his work rate.
Grandspur
Yeh I thought the last 10 minutes Spurs should have just bombarded their penalty box, was silly trying to play tippy tappy stuff on that pitch. They had a rookie defender come on for the injured Collins, and Spurs never tested him at all.
Collectively we just weren't clicking tonight. As many have said, the way others results have went means this week has worked out OK for us. Let's not forget we normally come back strong after defeat! Here's hopping!!
Lamela was not the worse player, I think Kane takes that award tonight. It ws such a nothing game in reality, the ball just ping ponging about, nobody on either side stood out.

I agree I never feel confident when Lamela plays - because he is our worst player - but that doesn't mean we can't win - it just means we're at a disadvantage.
By playing your best team doesn't guarantee you anything - it just gives us a better chance.
Lamela is too slow for Premiership. He's brilliant in Europa but he's holding us back so bad.
sandy is right, Kane was poor too - but Lamela is the consistent poor player. Every Prem game.- so so poor.
Thinking about it Spurs started tonight without five regulars Walker, Verts, Rose, Ali and Dembele, so a narrow defeat is sort of acceptable with half the strongest team missing.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Trippier or Chadli for me by a mile or two.
I agree I never feel confident when Lamela plays - because he is our worst player
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What total rubbish without even thinking about it Caroll and Bentaleb are far worse players than Lamela
Lamela is not even close to be our weakest link. As for tonight, I thought as Samdy said it was like a game of pinball. No one stood out. However Trippier did seem to make more mistakes than most tonight. But as I have said collectively we just weren't at it! Even Hugo looked uncharacteristically shaken.
I feel bad for keep going on about it but it also annoys me how you can't see how bad Lamela is. He must train very well that's all I can say. Because he has the worst touch, the worst speed, and is the most 1 footed player in the league.
Picking him will be our downfall - mark my words.

our highest league position in God knows how long, and lamela played loads….. how does that work? you seem to think that if lamela didn't play for spurs we would be about 10 points clear, which obviously is absolute rubbish.
he is an important member of the squad and its about time you let your childish tirade against him go.
Chicken still going on about lamela? Love to know his opinion of his 2 favourite Son who has been extremely poor for a while now. I like Son a lot by the way but let's not beat around the bush here.... Since coming back from injury he has been awful.
Son come on for Lamela and had the touch of a baby giraffe but I don't see chicken talking about this.
Chronic,
I've proved it time and time again.
I bet you any money right now my opinion will match the independent journos in the morning paper.
Lamela was the worst player on the pitch by an absolute mile - and is 99 percent of the time.
I'm not making this stuff up - read it for yourself .
Oh and before you accuse me of logging out to see your comments ..... People are quoting you on here, hence why I can see chickens comments
I can see Chronic and Don the filterer are looking for a row - not to debate - so I'm out of here.
If Spurs had won he would be on the West Ham board with Maf.
