If that's the point you were making fair enough, but it seemed to be more about the chance of winning the tournament than the way we went out of it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Firstly its the dreadful way we went out of this competition. No team should lose when they lead 2-0 at half time particularly to a poor team.

Secondly yes it does grieve me that we threw away a good chance of reaching a cup final. We have a young squad that really needs to win something to keep them all together to stop other teams picking them off.

Look at van persie for instance. He was not satisfied with CL every year and an outside chance of a trophy. He wanted to win something.

If we do not win anything in the next two years then you can kiss the likes of Kane goodbye.

We stood a good chance of winning this trophy and thru the attitude of the players and bad managment we threw that chance away.

So yes I am damned angry and IMO so is any other genuine supporter

Exactly. Poch has assembled a decent side and we will witness it being torn to bits by the likes of city and utd.

Tbf we won the League Cup and berba and Kane left. So it’s more dependent on the stature of trophy

They left because they could not see any hope of a bright future. Nobody in the side at the moment can say the same

I was looking forward to getting to a final, and watching Spurs at Wembley this season.

You're right, no team should lose after being 2-0 at half time. No good team with the aspirations we have anyway, although if you look through history you'll probably see examples of it happening to even the most seasoned of winners.

It's still early in the season yet and we'll have to see how we do with the rest of it. We now have to make even more of a concerted effort to be successful in the other competitions we're in. Top 4 and a trophy is the minimum for me this season and we can still achieve that or more (if being very hopeful).

I can see us finishing top 4 but I will have a friendly sportsmans bet with you that we now face another trophyless season

What I don`t get though is how other teams like Arsenal can put out youth team players and reserve players at best and still cruise in the main through cup games. Spurs put out a pretty strong team tonight, and still managed to blow it, as they always seem to do in cup games.

We rested our best player, our captain and our most influential player tonight. Changes all over the shop in front of a half empty stadium. No one likes losing and to slag off other supporters for seeing the wood through the trees before you can get your old nut round it is down to you. Some supporters just love the feeling of getting riled up. I'm one of the most passionate supporters out there. You just need half a brain to see what that match meant to the club and the majority of fans.

Maybe we will and maybe we won't. I wouldn't entertain any bet though. Doesn't mean I don't think we're capable, I just wouldn't want to use my money that way.

And top 4 isn't guaranteed either. Perhaps if we were to drop out of the top 4 we'd stand more chance of winning a trophy? Last time we reached a final we were out of the top 4, as were Liverpool when they reached 2 finals, as were United and Arsenal last season.

Its an attitude thing. Dier for instance has been as casual as can be for about a tear now. His passing is sloppy and he is often caught in possesion. Its almost as if he has started to believe his own hype.

I was not that upset with the lineup, the firsthalf proved it was good enough. I was upset at both our strikers being taken off when we were losing. I just consider that crazy.

Had he have bought the likes of Winks or Dembele on to close the game down at 2-0 then fair enough but the way we played second half and the changes poch made were in my mind nothing short of criminal.

To be honest grand, the odds are stacked in your favour. I mean there's only 3 chances now of winning a trophy, and Man City are 5 points clear in the league and the CL is always tough. FA Cup is a possibility. It was never that likely we'd win something to begin with at the start of the season.

All I'm saying is, let's wait and see. I'm not going to rule it out.
