Had to leave Sonny on, pace on the counter was our only threat

Bale has been crap for us so far and Moura has been way better
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They both could have come on. We didn't need to bring on Davies. My heart sank when I saw him warming up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we are looking to defend, like we were. I’d rather see Reggie in the winger role

Bale is someone who could get a goal out of nothing with a strike from distance. And you know that he would have tried to win it as well.

No problem with that but I'd rather have seen Bale involved in some way.

Even though he's already got us a winner?

“Goal out of nothing” ffs

Excellent point that for me. Keeps us top. Not a great performance, but I’m taking that all day. Rodon looks really good to, few mistakes but real talent.

You seem overly dismissive of Bale for some reason. If you don't think he's going to be a success for us fair enough, but to act like he's not capable of having these moments of quality in his locker is a bit silly.

posted on 29/11/20

Yeah Rodon had a shaky start and that error at the end, but overall he looks a good defender, and he appears to love his job of no nonsense defending. I`m impressed.

Because your opinions are outdated by 3 years. Similarly I wouldn’t have wanted Rooney or Totti on the pitch based on what they did 3 years ago. I’ve not written him off I just think it’s a huge risk to put on a player based on conjecture.

Defense's came out on top although Lampard should have brought Giroud on at HT, he'd have buried those chances Abraham squandered.

Rondon and Silva pick of them, the former looks a great prospect and the latter completely wiped Kane out of the game.

Why do you keep talking about 3 years ago like he's never going to score again. He's already had a positive impact from the bench in a game and scored a winner for us.

I think he's gradually getting more effective with each game so to me it isn't really a risk, not if he comes on late.

He’s not ready. Thursday was his worst game so far. Let’s not rewrite history and create some strawman argument that I haven’t said.

I would have as well, but Jose knows what he is doing, so fair enough.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everything you say is correct....shakey start and blunder with Giroud at the end.
Also he was beaten to headers on crosses, something that would never have happened with Toby.
Rodon has to improve, and the sooner Toby is back, the better.

posted on 30/11/20

Other than those things...Rodon had a decent game and did some things well.
Not out classed, but not dominant either.

You think Toby is never beaten to crosses you are very wrong. Vs Man City they had a golden chance to score , Dias I think it was from a set piece and Toby got nowhere near him. Sort of thing that Dier would get called our for. Also vs Everton everyone happy to blame Dier for losing DCL who scored but actually it was Toby. dont get me wrong the sooner hes back the better but hes not that commanding anymore.

We are all agreed that at 31 he's not as good as he used to be.
But the point is..............he's a damned sight better than Rodon.
