I met Clive Allen a few times as a kid, he was part of my extended family - was married to my non-blood uncles sister, would be at family parties. The season he scored 49 goals for us I was only 7, but he signed a polystyrene plate for me at a party, had it on my bedroom wall til I was a teenager - it literally biodegraded on the wall, in the end there was just a small yellowed piece left held in by a drawing pin.

My Mrs family are/were related to Bill Nich by marriage.

Was before I was with her but used to get tickets for games through him and my Mrs and her old man went to his wife's (Darkie) funeral.
