Diaby injury would be another one I'd throw out there. What a midfielder he'd be without that broken ankle...

I really hope you don't ask ourselves the same question in 2-3 years time and someone come up with "that wilshere injury.... it could have been world class" .

This article is making me sad. Can we go and ask the Spurs fans the same question and have a cackle?

Argh I was at that game didn't they then go on to lose against Monaco who were in turn whacked by Porto?

We know but there is no much to talk about this week. International break and the transfer window is closed

So was I. They did.

We would have won it that year.

cl final 1-0 vs barca and in complete control. my change would be no soft red card as we would have won.

or more recently the rvp red card in the cl to put us out

Henry missing that chance in the CL Final, has to be that. Eduardo injury/Bridge in the CL QF both horrible moments aswell. Also the CC Final vs Birmingham and FA Cup final vs Liverpool were sickening losses.

The red card Van Persie collected against Barca away at camp NOU still hurts, i think we would have won with eleven men on the pitch

Either Wayne bridges goal at highbury or Dennis' missed pen/ hasslebank header in 99

posted on 5/9/12

all the above but my heartbreak is FA semi 99. bergy missed a pen , giggs goal forever replayed on the telly. Then couple days later i think it was , olearys leeds played like rabid dogs in the league,if we had one that game , we would have won the league. Oh how history would be lovely without that treble !!!!!

HAS to be that miss in the CL Final from Henry.

I hate to say it, but he let the nerves get to him there

In addition to the above, may I offer:
- Don Rogers waltzing round us in the Wembley mud at the League Cup Final 1969.
- Trevor Brooking scoring with his head in the FA Cup Final 1980.
- Michael Owen scoring twice in the last 10 minutes of the FA Cup Final 2001.
There are probably loads of others but I don't want to depress myself too much ...
... however, I've also got lots of good memories that I would never want to change (including Charlie George and Michael Thomas !!) but that's probably another article.

It's got to be the Wayne Bridge goal in the CL Quarter-Final 2004. To have Wayne Bridge end our hopes for the CL. Wayne Bridge! Was just too much. That was the year that we should have won it.

Dan Lewis letting the ball slip in and blaming it on his shirt in the 1927 F.A. Cup final v Cardiff.
More recently, obviously Lehmanns red, Koscielny v Brum, Henchoz's goalkeeping masterclass and Diabys awful injury after a terrible assault by some nobody called Dan Smith (plus the other bad injuries we have suffered in recent years)

Yes 1927. What are you, some sort of plastic glory hunter who only started supporting Arsenal in the Chapman success years?
