Why is he in England Squad?

Not sure (Money apart)

Perhaps he didn't fancy mid table mediocrity for the rest of his career. How wrong was HE? It would have been a relegation battle every year!
Enjoy the fizzy pop league

At least he would have started every game

Hodgson played him as a wing-back in trhe Euros and he was wasted as he spent half his time trying to cover for Glen Johnson. Mancini played him wide right aginst Chelsea in the CS and he was my man of the match.

But he'd be booed evey game by your 'orrible fans

Probably not Rodwell

But he like many would be a better player if he played every week

We're 3 games into the season and every outfield player in the squad that's fit has made an appearance so far.

Don't get me wrong I am not having a go at City fans, they are amongst the best.

I am just saying that why is JM in the England side to play wide right when at CM he had all the potential to be really good.

I just think that there is where he should be playing for club (and he won't get a game with City in that position). Or at others.

He is not a RM.

I'm sure Hodgson will call you when he's flummoxed at what to do.

Didn't he play RM for us? I thought he did, before Downing's arrival. I think you're right though, although he's had good games for City he somehow looked better for us, a bit sharper when taking on players.

You're absolutely spot on and I constantly ask myself the same question. He's not a winger; no pace and lacks the ability to beat a player - key ingredients for a winger. Had he not switched to CM for Villa, I dare say he would still be at the club putting 6/10 performances in. He's strong, bags of energy and has an eye for a pass; all the attributes which made him a revelation in the middle and one of the most complete CMs I've ever seen. Why RM paid all that money for him, then switched him back to the wing baffles me. The only time I've seen him in the middle since was when he bossed the game at Mold Trafford last season.

Not sure why some City fans see this observation as an opportunity to bash Villa, says more about them as individuals. I don't blame Milner, I would've done the same myself but if you ask him now when he played and enjoyed his best football, there is no doubt he would say it was his last season at Villa.

"Not sure why some City fans see this observation as an opportunity to bash Villa, says more about them as individuals."

Bit harsh, mate. Only one person had a pop at Villa, everyone else was saying he's been played at RM for us on and off as well.

Maybe Hodgson picked him because he's a strong player who puts in a decent shift. Maybe he chose him to play there in preference to Walcott because he thinks he'll be a better player there. Maybe he got picked because he's got a shiny new league champions medal to show off. I don't know, I can't tell what Roy's thinking, unfortunately.

What I do know is, it's a good opportunity for Milner to pick up another England cap and to hopefully showcase why he should get the nod at City more often as well. And he'll do it, too, because he genuinely wants to play and he doesn't complain about his lack of game time, so I hope he does well.

Not harsh at all. I said "some" and "individuals" not "all" so calm down and get it right.

I think maybe we've seen Milner out wide for England more recently because he provides defensive cover for the full backs. He won't offer as much attacking threat as Ox-Cham or Walcott, but at least he gives the coach assurance that he will track back and tuck in when we don't have the ball.

In tournament football, where the steaks are so high, it seems a good compromise as both Capello and Hodgson have employed it.

Now that Gerrard and Lampard are all but gone, I'd like to see Milner given a run in the middle. I can't think of anyone else better suited to fill that role for the next 5 years.

Most modern, successful teams have large squads and use a rotation system. Milner has played his part in such a system at City and been part of a Championsip winning team. However, I admit that i am one of the school that thinks Milner should be played in more games than he does and as you say, in the middle and not on the right.

One person isn't "some", nor "individuals". I was calm then, but less so now, because your continued inaccuracy is irritating me.

Not sure you understand the word "inaccuracy" as you are struggling with more simple words like "some" (this might help: http://m.dictionary.com/d/?q=some&submit-result-SEARCHD=Search).
"Some people are over sensitive".
"Some people are easily irritated".
"Some people are just dumb".

Whatever, rozzer. You stick to twisting facts, I look forward to seeing you on TV sometime as a spin doctor for a corrupt organisation.

I really haven't twisted anything. You just don't have a full grasp of the English language.

I'm having trouble with these "steaks"; and to what altitude they must be at to be considered "high".
