Mikel why your dressing sense is SH! T
Ask him if his internet browser has a forward button, and if he's ever used it

interesting question, but he is a holding midfielder and should make safe passes

Come on he does pass forward sometimes.
I just want to see him taking more risks with his passing at certain points in the game.
You can´t play it safe for the entire game and as they say the biggest risk is taking no risks at all.

Mikel
This is precisely why i hate twitter. That response while being true doesn't answer the question.
Now he has got grief on twitter, you watch him take a few more risks against QPR, lose the ball and we go 1-0 down, hit on the counter.
Saying that, I think he does need to be a bit more positive even if that does mean exposing the defence.

Mikel is god.
Mikel = #12
We won the CL in '12
Why is Mikel the constant scapegoat, he ain't the real culprit this season but favourtism and sentimentality to others still lead to Mikel being targeted
Mikel should be one of the first name on the team-sheets atm. It's Lamps fault that he constantly gets exposed when they play together

I think it´s because people can see that Mikel has more in his locker to give.
He´s a massive lad and built like a tank so I´d like to see him dominating midfields as he has all the tools to do that.
Also he´s 25/26 now so it´s time for him to step up and be the midfield general that we desperately need in this Chelsea side.

Mikel has been much better this season in regards to being positive in possession. I just can't stand it when he leaves others to take the risks, most often the CBs and it is no less risky for a CB to look to play an aggressive pass than it is for a holding midfielder.
However this season he seems to want to be our midfield leader and is looking to control things more which is nice to see.
-----------------------------------
Mikel is the anchor man, if he plays a risky pass, with but full backs in attacking positions, and, only 2 central defenders behind him, who are out wide, what do you think would happen?
Mikel is doing a good job, still room to improve but he's not as bad as people make him out to be
Doenst answer the question.
Tbh, it doesnt make sense either. He is out of position 99 times out of 100 anyway, so might as well venture forward.

Could be because he is a sheit player.
Just a theory.

Mikel has been much better recently but someone has to play the aggressive pass and too often for my liking Mikel moves the responsibility onto someone else.
---------------------------------------------------------
Yup this is how I see it as well. He needs to take more responsibilty and not be afraid of making a mistake.
In this new formation and style we need to get the ball forward quickly to the likes of Mata and Hazard.
Mikel´s first priority should be to see if the risky/aggresive pass is on. If it is then take it, if not then play it safe.
With Mikel I feel that his first thought is to look for the safe pass and he too often seems to miss making what would be a very good pass forward.
One thing Lampard has going for him, he can spot a pass even though he is not defence minded enough at times.
