Since the team is unlikely to change and it will still be only one fith of the campaign gone how will it change anything come Tuesday

Errr if we actually play a formation to win and do so??

Fingers the whole Scotland performance went like this

Defender-> pass to another defender-> pass to another defender -> lump it up the park

Shambles Lattine should just walk. Now.

bf do you know something the rest of us dont, is there to be a new manager for Tuesdays game

posted on 8/9/12

Fingers agree campaign is finished.

1. Home games are crucial in this group
2. The way we set up shows we will drop lots of points at home. If you're not prepared to go for a win at home how the fekk ate you supposed to qualify ?

The days of managers walking is past

Unfortunately. And when they do it tends to be the good uns. It's the whallopers u can't get rid of

I fear for Tuesday! If we don't win that then bye bye Levien. Vogts had a worse group of players but still managed a play off spot!

We won't beat Mcedonia. Well play 1 up top again and get another point at best. Goodnight Vienna

A crying shame

Levien is a product of his predecessors. Smith and McCliesh were the most defensive managers Scotland has ever had.
After Vougts tehy were seen as how Scotland must play to be successful.
Truth be known both Brown and Roxburgh were far more attacking than Smith or McClish ever were though they are the basis both Smith and McClish based their practice upon.
Brown's period of management is the best of the modern era. We can attack but we arent that good to not have to pick the right time to do so

"Campaign over as far as I'm concerned."
-------------------------------------------------------------

It's not impossible for us to beat Macedonia (half-decent side but not exactly Spain or Germany) and four points would be a decent start.

I'm sure we'd all like a few changes to the team - we'll see....

I don't disagree. But our fears were confirmed with that line up today. We all guessed what the starting 11 would be. And collectively our hearts sank.

That's the kind f line ups Latrine put out in qualifiers. There was nothing today to suggest we look capable of scoring goals.

Latrine is so negative, it will be more of the same on Tursday. The caution first approach. The try to nick a goal approach that has failed us so miserablly campaign after campaign .

This was a new beginning an opportunity to set our stall out. To go into games and try winning them. Instead Latrines inferiority complex has overridden all the positives in our side, all the good player not selected or played out of position. The poor tactics, formation and substitutions.

Levein doesn't learn from his mistakes because he doesn't believe he makes any. And because of that we continually serve up this repetitive BS

To be honest BH and dont really know why but was more conderned with playing Serbia than Macadonia.
Guess was mostly the media hype about how hard it was going to be and how good Serbia were.
Didnt think much of them at all on tonights peformance. From menory I was basing my thoughts regarding Macadonia. We should have done them home and away the last time we played them.

Ear;ly days yet and as far as I am concerned "we'll be coming , coming down the road "

Serbia are pash. They've lost their last 5 and won one of their last 10. Tthey had 6 players under 21 and we barely made their keeper make a save

posted on 8/9/12

Hard to make the keeper make a save with a spent 33 yo leading the line.
Was basically the Prague 640 minus a player

All this carp aside Murray is playing some great tennis

Serbia aren't great, but they passed rings around our guff players without trying. Their defence was suspect and we should have pushed harder but overall they are more talented players.

I'm getting sick of this Levein hatred, I'm sorry but what is with the personal attacks. FFS if you don't agree with him fine, but get a grip, are you lot 5 or something?

IMO Levein was not totally to blame today. I bet the last 3 or 4 Scotland managers would have picked roughly the same team today. The problem today is as the OP says, no basic skill from supposed EPL players. Charlie Adam, James Morrison, Steven Naismith and Alan Hutton should be hammered for that performance, they were an absolute joke. Could barely control a ball never mind keep possession. That's not down to the manager I'm afraid.

I see there's a thread about Murray on the Scottish League board if anyone wants to discuss that.

db you didnt watch the same game as me. Thats what I was expecting to see also given the media hype. Fact is it didnt happen they had a few good spells but nothing more. On the whole and without looking through blinkers of any kind we dropped 2 points . They were well and truley there for the taking.

I feel we have to be more positive against Macedonia which is now pretty much a must-win game. Will we really need Caldwell as a holding midfielder for example or can other midfielders do enough defensive work between them?

posted on 8/9/12

Defensive work ? Against Macwdonia ? At Hamden ?

we really do have problems if we can't beat them turkeys and require a holding midfield player

posted on 8/9/12

Tonight Caldwell was a waste. He may well be needed to play such a role verses Belgium and Croatia.
Against Serbia though he only took away from our attacking options.
Not having a go at Caldwell as he can only play were he is told.

Tosh Macadoina area far better side than Serbia. Two seeding groups higher infact
